I think my shed has finally given up the ghost and the floor is no more! I think it's just the mice holding it together! So I'm looking for a new shed. Mainly for bike fettling, turbo trainer and storage.
So can anyone recommend any online or local to the Midlands shed supplier?
Also I'm looking at the plastic interlocking grids for the base. Where you clip them together and then fill with gravel. Does anyone have any experience of using these? I'd rather not have to spend 6 weeks mixing concrete for a base if I can help it

I used the interlocking grid things for a 5m x 4m log cabin.
Was impressed overall and seem to have no issues (been up 1yr).
The only complication is that they rise to a point in the centre - so you have to be a little careful over where you put your level as to whether it is level.

But overall it meant it was easy to sort out and would do it again.

Interesting not heard of gravel grid things - any links? Would they work ok for drives / patio areas as well?

Does it work out cheaper? Would imagine it is more environmental than concrete

I have used Ecobase for a log store and a shed. Great bit of kit and much easier than faffing with a concrete base. Filled with pea gravel for the visible bits round the side makes it easier on the eye as well.

Dt78.

My parents have grass in theirs its had tractors and everything over it.

The grass get squashed but doesn't get trashed so it springs back to life.

Grass hides the grid not sure how goid it wood look with gravel wouldn't it keep popping through as the gravel moved?

Can't see that plastic grid stuff being that good for a shed base. You will get weird point loading between the plastic and the timber with the gravel not really doing anything. For quick and easy on a smaller shed a few timber sleepers make a decent enough base. For a better job a bit of compacted MOT type 1 and some pavers laid on top. The pavers don't need to be good as they aren't seen. I got mine free from a local facebook group

Hi,

I used Total Sheds (they are in Willenhall) a couple of years ago. I only got a fairly straightforward, basic shed - but they do cabins and summerhouses etc. It came treated - but they still recommend that you treat it too for longevity.

Main thing for me was they were cheaper than the local DIY places for a better quality shed - and they made a slightly bespoke one for me because of a space constraint without charging anything extra over the shed it was based on.

Anyway, might be worth a look.

I’ve just built a Duramax plastic shed and I’m very pleased with it. It’s a lot stronger than I expected it to be. The only real problem is the roof gets a bit of condensation on the inside. I’m hoping some good insulation will sort it.

It came with a foundation kit that you can supposedly fill with gravel and put wooden boards on top for your floor. I laid a concrete base, so didn’t need it.

those of you using grids are you putting these directly onto the soil? i have a slope so need to level things up first and i imagine that the gride would sink over time.

Look up High Street Sheds Ltd on ebay, I've got one of their workshop sheds in my garden. Really solid construction and assembly is included in the price.

Thanks for the help everyone. I've looked in the other thread about build or buy, not sure I have enough time to build one as I have a ten month old baby. The tiger sheds people have recommended look good though
