Need to get my tanalised workshop waterproofed and preserved. Have a 5L tube of Ronseal decking preserver I picked up at Costco as it was on offer and couldn't think of any reason why it shouldnt be okay. Am I missing something before I go slap it on?

Getting a few damp patches around joints, Will seal windows in with Dow Corning silicone but think some is wicking in from edges.

Decking takes far more of a beating , as the water will sit on it. Only reason not to is visual, imho. If it will look ok, go for it.

There's Schaeffer's Deck Sealant too. I saw an ad recently, looked really good.

Thats what I use on mine it looks okay but once you have got a coat on thats it for a couple of years, (you cannot coat more than once as the second coat does not soak in so give it a good coat to start with)

I figured it should be hard wearing as it's for decking and also suitable for tanalised timber as decking is.

I did wonder if it was possible to apply a 2nd coat, I guess not! I guess you will easily spot any areas that need re-coating as they will look damp after rain.
