Would anyone know a little more than me on planning for a garden shed/building
Back of garden has a gate onto an alleyway that is apparently not the council’s property or problem (or so I was told for repair of a pot hole. Local HA (Clarion) did come out and fix it eventually after many emails about the guy in his 90s who often stumbles past it in and out of his garden, so I guess it was them responsible)
Currently have a shed against the fence (10” gap). What are the rules/regs and things I’ve not thought of for rebuilding the shed actually as the boundary. I think in this instance it would be made of brick for security, and have either a flat roof or a shallow pitch towards the garden so there’s no overhang to the rear. All guttering to the side/garden.
Either side to the neighbours garden would retain their fence. The only info I can find is about party wall agreements, which wouldn’t be the case here.
Would this just be the same as replacing a fence with a wall?
The garden is 18" below the level of the path and either side as we had it dug out so it was closer to the level of the house. This means we don't need a lot of height visible from the rear to have a good height inside the building. Currently the shed sits below the line of the fence.
Would I need planning permission for this? Is it a ridiculous idea?
You could just replace the fence with a wall and then, built a shed next to the new wall - using the wall as one side...
Temporary structure, such as sheds, garden rooms etc, don't normally need planning permission.
Unless you're in a conservation area, you wouldn't need to get permission to replace a fence with a wall either.

If it's permitted development then it doesn't need planning. There isn't the concept of temporary buildings in planning legislation anymore (at least not in this context) and there hasn't been for years and years.
2.5m max height within 2m of a boundary, I don't think that the height relative to the boundary matters, it is the boundary 🙂
Are the local kids going to use it for footie practice/be climbing on the roof at every opportunity?
