Ep 1 is very promising. Liked it a lot.
Fingers crossed they can keep it going.
Not 100% adult myself yet. The tone seems a bit off?
Now kind of worried what they'll turn Daredevil into when he turns up. Not sure he lens himself to a quippy comedy.
I’ve seen some good reviews and have enjoyed both the recent Wandavision & Hawkeye shows so set for family viewing tonight.
I loved it but then I knew I would...
1) Tatiana Maslany is amazing and perfect for this - watch Orphan Black if you haven't.
2) The "tone" is right, cheeky (see: Rogers chat, breaking 4th wall) and mildly adult.
3) Also I'm a massive MCU nerd.
I wouldn't worry about Daredevil making it less "fun", Fiege has stated he intends for Daredevil to fit into the MCU tone wise rather than being so dark and i think it's just a cameo.
I expected/wanted to like it, as an 80s/90s comic kid have enjoyed nearly all the MCU stuff so far (I don't even mind Eternals) but episode 1 didn't quite land with me for some reason. I kind of want it to go properly goofy and OTT but suspect it won't as most of the MCU TV stuff has got more conventional as each series unfolds rather than wilder.
(and "adult" in my earlier post should have read 'sold' but predictive keyboard and lack of effective proofreading put paid to that)
I enjoyed EP1 - I like how they just got the origin story out of the way, rather than drip-drip feeding you in a series of flashbacks that a lot of these series seem to do.
Picking up on BillOddie’s post, I’m hoping for Ally McBeal with muscles, as per the original comic pitch.
My daughter's a huge MCU fan. She watched it yesterday while I was cooking so I saw bits and pieces. She is ambivalent - it was obviously just setting up the backstory but there wasn't an obvious villain so she wasn't sure what it was supposed to be about. So, potentially good, will take a few episodes to know.
Enjoyed it. Simple entertainment with some half decent MCU humour. The Smart Hulk still punching people when they annoy him for example.
but there wasn’t an obvious villain
Titiana (Jameela Jamil) appeared for about 30 secs and Emil Blonsky will be along in some way soon...
It seems to be getting 1 star reviewed on IMDB more than any Marvel show so far.
If it's pissing off the incels that much it must be worth a look, I reckon.
Loved it. But I collected to comics when a child. The only one I didn't particularly like was Moonknight.
Purely a money making excersise.
Purely a money making excersise.
Yeah, I only watch shows that were made specifically to lose money.
Purely a money making excersise.
That's what the MCU is. They have made some great stuff, but they seem to be milking it all for every last drop and struggling to keep up the quality. Wandavision was mostly great but the end was weak, Moonknight was a confusing mess.
quite enjoyed it and looking forward to see where they go with it.
Tatiana Maslany in Orphan Black was outstanding I did wonder what happened to her after that ended it's 10 years or older?
Watched ep1 Disneys latest cash grabs and it's looking good.
That was good fun. Didn't take itself seriously, she's great.
Good post credits scene too
"CAPTAIN AMERICA F....."

I knew this was coming but still disappointed. She Hulk seems good from the first episode. I think that all the MCU shows pale in comparison to the Netflix offerings. Except Iron Fist of course.

Agreed on both counts.
The three Netflix series of Daredevil are by far the best Marvel live action adaptations to date (especially series 1 and 3).
Slight thread drift
After Obe Wan, any other new worthwhile Disney+ realeases aside from perhaps this one?
I tend to drift from service to service depending on whats available.
Will have a look at it later on, biggest issue with Disney releasing so many Marvel TV series is that they've been a bit more miss than hit, they do seem to try and change the characters from their origins in comics and the movies though.
She Hulk should have a chance though as it's a new character, and they're being pretty obvious the way they're going with the series, it'll annoy the comic fans, but that's always the way.
Piemonster, aAndor is due to drop in the next month, I've got high hopes it's in the same vein as Rogue One which it dovetails into rather than the sequels.
Also waiting for Andor. Ms Marvel was good. Jeff Goldblum‘s documentaries are fun and worth checking out if you haven’t.
Double post.
