Like using King of shaves oil but kinda recoil at the price.
Anyone make their own or recommend a less spendy oil.
Olive oil, witch hazel and an essential oil of your choice eg sandalwood. Job done.
Olive oil is quite thick though or does the witch hazel dilute it down sufficiently?
nuage shave oil, 20ml £1, two squirts is plenty.
if i can take apart the squirty bottle i might diy a batch and see how it goes
I believe alternative solutions are available, but they're little known and not always readily accessible, due to inherently secretive world of men shaving their faces. You probably won't have heard of this stuff before, as its quite niche, but you may possibly be able to track some down locally, if you know the right people....
🙂
I did used to use that but I found I had constant shaving rash. Started using KoS and no more shaving rash - sensitive southerner skin, y'see...
(at least I still use a non-niche Gillette razor)
Hair conditioner - works a treat.
Rub it in, give it a couple of minutes to soften the hair and job's a good 'un.
Cheap as chips.
That's actually what I do if I run out of oil 🙂 I find it dries the skin more though...
Could go down the essential oil route, Almond oil as a base with things like lavendar, neroli, sandalwood, geranium, patchouli.
Sandalwood and Neroli are quite expensive, but two small vials could make gallons of shave oil when mixed with almond oil as a carrier.
Back in the days when I shaved, I just topped up the shaving oil bottle from the olive oil in the kitchen.
