Looking to get a new electric shaver, but not sure what to get.
Currently have a Braun with self cleaning thingy which is handy. Someone towards the lower price range. It has served me well, but its getting old and slow.
Any recommendations?
I like the look of the Phillips shavers, but I must admit it is purely because of the carbon fibre! 🙂

In my experience, foil tends to give a less irritating (and closer) cut.
foil
Wet Wet Wet
And I don't mean Marti Cokehead Pellow and his chums.
Can't get on with rotary shavers m'self - but I think my beard grows particularly parallel to the skin, which is a bit sensitive too, so I wind up scrubbing the razor to get everything and just get a sore neck. YMMV, lots of people manage to use 'em.
Used a cheapo Braud foil thing for years 'til I bust the sideburn trimmer, so went back to wet shaving with a single blade (double edge) safety razor. But I only shave a few times a week (if that), more frequently and I'd get shaving rash. Foil seemed to work the best for frequent shaving.
rotary gives me less irritation - foil just pulls each hair out by the roots.
Wet shave is best by far tho
rotary, wet
phillips work for me, check out Boots they often have a 1/2 price offer
also don't buy proprietary 'in shaver' lube, use <anybody> gel - works ok
I have this Braun: http://www.boots.com/en/Braun-Series-5-Male-Shaver-590cc_121862/ , but paid ~£85 11months ago for it, while it was on offer.
Rotarys just cut up my sensitive ickle skin 🙁
It's ok, not perfect but ok. It doesn't seem to cut close enough in certain areas, one musing I read wondered if it was due to the funny mesh shape on modern foils?
Compared to the old Remington RS7832 (microscreen intercept senstive foil shaver) it replaced, it doesn't give as good a finish - wish I could get another!
