Just sat and watched this , not a grandchild in sight , just me and Mrs OF but she wasn't really taking much notice . I'm 67 I shouldn't really be sat laughing out loud and stuff like this ! I've hardly touched alcohol all day but I just found this utterly delightful 👍👍👍😎😎😎
The attention to detail, the work involved but most importantly proper made I laff it did . Might have to try again with the grandkids 😎

Tis brilliant, one of the few things the kids watch that I enjoy too. As is all of Nick Park’s stuff. Although I think the TV series is under license and no longer plasticine (although I haven’t researched this so someone will be along to put me straight).

Oh yes, it's excellent.

The more you watch Aardman films, the more clever details you spot hidden in the background

Just watched The Flight Before Christmas just brilliant 😎
Agreed More Cash a lot of the background stuff they could probably get away with not bothering, just shows the quality.

TBH I love Shaun the sheep & always have done, I don't care I'm a big kid & like some have said its the little details that make you laugh.

Though apparently Nick Park owes my F-i-L money from years back when they first started out and he didn't pay for a coach trip 😀

Thanks for the tip, I hadn’t thought to check for a Shawn for quite a while, so I’ll look these up.
As others have said, it’s as much the tiny little things in the background as much as what the characters are doing that makes Aardman films just so much fun. Just things like wallpaper or a poster on a wall will cause spontaneous outbursts of laughter.

Great film, went to go see it in the cinema when it came out with my other half. We're both 26, no kids, no regrets.

@alpineharry I did the same when in my late 20s to watch Curse of the Wererabbit. I'm still hoping that gets released as a blu ray or 4k disc to replace my old dvd 😀

Not seen Farmageddon (it's now on my list thanks to this thread) but watched the couple of Shaun shorts they showed yesterday. I think they're probably better than the Wallace & Gromit stuff. The animation's not quite as clean, but the visual care and attention to detail is amazing. So much going on visually and even the throwaway stuff is done with love and attention to detail (there was a few seconds of The Snowman parody in one of them that was completely inconsequential but brilliantly conceived and executed).

The ginger haired popcorn-eating fat alien-hunting nerd is from something else but I can't remember for the life of me what it is. Anyone?

Boy1 works for Aardman on and off.

The puppets are mostly made from foam latex with 100s of face and hand pieces for all the movement frames. There’s then some computer work to hide the edges and smooth the transitions.

It’s still very detailed work and everything still has to be sculpted and modelled by artists hands. It just speeds up the shooting process.

Thx
