my 2 yr old son loves it and rightly so to cause its brilliant
but am going a bit mad watching the first 3 series on loop
can anyone else suggest another show thats on a par
I quite like Hey Dugee.
My son thinks it's alright.
Normal STW answer:
Breaking Bad
The Wire
Tractor Tom
There's more than three series, aren't there?
Just checked, there are four series so far.
Timmy Time for the little ones.
only 3 series on dvd
waiting for 4th to get released, and of course the movie
living in foreign land, as i do, dvds are the best option. the local stuff is rubbish
Have you not been to see the film yet then?
Tree fu Tom is all the rage here although I can't stand the sniveling little urchin
What about Pirates! or Wallace and Grommit?
If you can handle watching Top Gear every week then three series of Shaun the Sheep should be a skoosh.
3 year old Shaun counisseur in our house - knows all the episodes across the 4 series (we have 4 DVDs so there must be 4) and demands them according to mood. Her fAvourite is the one where he gets a girlfriend, then the car chase one. The movie is brilliant, she was transfixed for 80 minutes.
Get your littleun into gigglebiz on cbbc, it brilliant!
Big Babies is amazing!!
Not sure if it's on TV anymore, but there are plenty of episodes on youtube:
Ben and Holly
Nanny plum is ace
> buys trapdoor DVD<
Crankbrats top choices shaun the sheep . mighty machines , Donald Duck any video of real bin lorries.
I find Donald Duck has its violence and racist moments and am happier with Shaun.
Pocoyo - kinda joint Spanish/English thing. Narrated by Stephen Fry. Our fellow loves it. Quite funny too with Fry's voiceover.
Ive tried with all the old stuff from my childhood - Ivor the Engine, Mary Mungo and Midge etc...not interested
and we live in Norway so I cant get cbbc
trapdoor looks good
My boys were in Big Babies, the start and end of their tv career.
If you have a VHS player, I have a video of the complete Ivor the Engine that is no longer any use to us!
The clangers..
+1 Dangermouse !
My boys were in Big Babies, the start and end of their tv career.
Any chance of an autograph, I'm a big fan 😀
Peppa Pig!
+1 for Ben and Hollies little kingdo. Or Sarah and Duck.
Sarah and Duck is excellent. Roger Allam's laconic narration makes it for me. (For the OP, it's a CBeebies thing, but I think it might be on YouTube.)
Rottentrolls. Ideal for kids and the mentally ill
cbeebies:
shaun the sheep
peter rabbit
hey duggee
netflix kids:
thomas the tank engine
bob the builder
that little lot keep my 18 month old (or rather me, when he has wandered off after the intro music finishes) entertained.
Dave
Ivor +lots. Dylan Thomas for kids.
Nerds and Monsters is currently rocking this household. It's basically Ren and Stimpy for kids.
morph?
Adventure Time
The Regular Show
The Marvellous Misadventures of Flapjack
Kids like them because they're cartoons, adults like them cos they're funny.
I got into trouble showing my son Trap Door, he loved it but then had a nightmare.
Li'l J & I like Show Me Show Me ,Hey Duggie & Dino paws.
He loves Fireman bloody Sam but fortunately has finally realised that Postman Pat is an incompetent buffon and doesn't watch it any more. 🙂
We also know ALL of Elmo's songs and enjoy Captain Pugwash and the Moomins.
Check out Hedgehog in the Fog......
If he's 2 I wouldn't show him the film yet theres a few dark bits.
Ben and holly is one of the funniest programmes on tv. Peppa pig has a few sly nods to the grown ups but the whole of Ben and holly is a bone dry wit aimed at grown ups hiding in s children's cartoon. Nanny plum and the pompous king are brilliant creations. The wise old elf even does looks to camera in the latest episodes
Ps I'd forgotten about rotten trolls that was great.
All the usual suspects mentioned above + Canimals and miniscule are also great.
Another Timmy Time vote here. ~30 episodes to cycle through watching.
The adventures of Abney and Teal.
Very Oliver Postgate like.

Is it modern sanitised Moomins, or old school terrifying Moomins? I went and saw the Babadook at the cinema, it was exactly like 1980s moomins in places.
Old school terrifying one .ha.
The missus is a huge fan and has the box set .
Hey duggie. Ah woof!
Sarah and duck.
Both great.
one more related thing - does anyone else find the theme song to "wooly and tig" very disturbing?
