Noob Sharepoint user here - this is my scenario:
I have documents in two separate library's
Each document in the library's has a unique reference (within their own library) in a column called URN.

Is it possible to link documents in one library with documents in another library that have a matching URN?

If so can this be done automatically as we're looking at >70,000 documents?

You can create shortcuts in the same way you can create shortcuts to documents on your desktop etc. No idea how you could create 70k plus of them though

I am not entirely sure what you are trying to do but I recall thst you can show content from several libraries without moving the files by using SharePoint out of the box web parts.
CQW web part should allow this but you’ll need dev rights for that.

It’s been a while since I was involved with SP development, left that behind to keep my sanity. 🙂

My client has all the expertese, I'm just creating the documents, but was trying to get a handle on how easy (or not) it would be for them to link related documents. Doing it manually is certainly not an option!
I was just wondering if it was a completely stupid question that everyone who knew anything about SP could answer!

I'll do some more digging.

You should be able to create a lookup column, if I've understood right.
