^ah yes, some of the prints of the films were pretty shonky and the intro music got more and more warped.
Super Gran
Jossy's Giants
Much more recent but this was genius. Best first 5 minutes of any TV series in history
Old moomins were terrifying! What were they thinking?
maccruiskeen - MemberI can't think of any other instance of an album where every track on it is the same song.
Every Sigur Ros album
All a bit modern for me. Where's Andy Pandy or Bill and Ben?
This, & what Countzero said. I think I stopped watching kids TV in 1971 when I was 14!
have these been done ?
the best way to find out is to look through the previous posts
Brian May remembers Star Fleet
Gosh, you're all so young! In my day it was black and white and the likes of Bill and Ben, The Woodentops, and Andy Pandy.
And that posted underneath my post with programmes going back to 1960!
The Box Of Delights - pure Christmas joy for this (at the time) 5 year old
Who dare come to the Tall Knight's Folly?

Not me...too scary by far!
We used to get Dark Towers to watch at school on rainy days
chubstr - MemberI have not met a single person who remembered this, it was brutal, people died on it even though it was on Saturday mornings
"By your command"!
Yep, I remember being traumatised by it as well.
i still recall the theme tune to it !
ahh Press Gang. I'm still got a crush on Julia Sawalha.
I always remember that episode where she was a ghost or something and could influence people's action by whispering in their ears, or did I dream it.
TV? All I had was Listen with Mother.
jekkyl - Memberahh Press Gang. I'm still got a crush on Julia Sawalha.
As well you should.
Belle et Sebastien
Wasn't watching Heidi used as punishment if you were naughty?
ahh Press Gang. I'm still got a crush on Julia Sawalha.
Who doesn't!
Anyone watch those weird Australian series CBBC used to get like the one where a boy sold his laugh to some millionaire?
Also can't see the Youtube links or some of the pics so I'm gonna throw in The Racoons, Visionaries, Pigeon Street, Around the world with willy fog, button moon (which my kids love), jimbo and the jetset, the wuzzles and the get along gang
Never 'eard of 'em. Bet they ain't got nuffin on Hector's House.
Star fleet, star fleeeeet... Awesome.
Along with Terrahawks, Battle of the Planets, Why don't you, and even though I claimed to hate it...
Black Beauty
The Machine Gunners (anyone ever find themselves saying 'where you going now?' in a geordie accent?)
I loved Huckleberry Finn and Friends
Bloody hell! The best thread ever! The memories are flooding back. Has anyone mentioned Grotbags and Emu's World? Dempsey and Makepeace. Hubba Hubba!
Gilbert the Alien is still one of my heroes:
The Machine Gunners (anyone ever find themselves saying 'where you going now?' in a geordie accent
Yep! Me and singletrackmind still do that! 🙂 Amazing how some of these ancient catchphrases and songs stay with you. On the rare occasion I do gardening ... " I'm Bayleaf the gardener, I work from early dawn..." 😀
Gilbert the Alien is still one of my heroes:
His own show 'Gilberts Fridge' was superb (all on Youtube now I think). I used to run home from 6th Form to catch it. It was in a 4pm kids ITV slot but belonged in the Channel 4 post-pub friday night schedule. Basically a 30 minute Phil Cornwell stream of consciousness. I don't think the core kids TV audience really understood sketches where Gilbert tries to sell french impressionist paintings to Dieter Meier.
Around the World With Willy Fog was awesome up until the point they changed the animation style and voices, after which is was never the same again.
The same goes for Dogtanian.
Some could leave quite an indelible mark. There was occasionally some very creepy and challenging drama for children back in the day. Anybody remember:
(Welsh voice) “She wants to be flowers, but you make her owls. You must not complain, then, if she goes hunting.”
?
#Out there in space,
Shall we find friends?
Is there a place,
Where the universe ends?#
Animal Kwackers - Creepy blue glam rock lion.
Somewhat randomly, I've seen them live.
I have not met a single person who remembered this, it was brutal, people died on it even though it was on Saturday mornings

She wants to be flowers, but you make her owls. You must not complain, then, if she goes hunting
Ah, the Owl Service. Great book too!
