Hmmmmm.
Just watched this for the first time;
Great acting, some fantastic lines and the gags about writing and alcohol are superb.
S'all a bit Tarantinoesque though isn't it?
And whilst I appreciate it as a piece of work, I don't think I like it.
I felt for the characters in 'In Bruges', but not this lot.
What did you reckon?
Saw it on a flight and it felt like it wants to be the best of Tarantino and In Bruges and fails. Disappointing for me.
Thought exactly the same.
In Bruges: excellent
The Guard: pretty good, not quite as sharp, but good fun.
Seven Psychopaths: trying to take the best of the previous two and Hollywood them. It doesn't work though - they're indie classics, it's just... odd
You know, I'm sure I've seen it. I'm sure I quite liked it. But I can't remember a damn thing about it.
(I've also seen Spring Breakers, which is universally panned, but I liked it in a Natural Born Killers type way. Very well acted. But I digress.)
Saw it last weekend, as the credits were rolling my thoughts were "hmmm, that was odd". Enjoyed watching it though, some good performances (Woody Harrelson is ace) and good moments. Trying a bit too hard though to be quirky and Tarantino-esque. Agree with the statement above as well that you can't empathise with any of the characters, as none are even vaguely believable (maybe that's the point!)
was alright, couple of lol moments but yeah wasn't great.
Its ok, but not a patch on In Bruge or the Guard
Dezzy baby, if you want a great film in a Natural Born Killers mould, give this a viewing....
It seemed to sneak under the radar, but its an absolutely brilliant black comedy!
Yeah! I saw that preview somewhere ages ago - will have a look for it later, cheers 🙂
Same here DezB, I can't remember much about it other than that I liked it..
