Anything? I'll even man juice on my vocal cords (joke) but I am serious- its doing my head in. Can't sleep for trying to swallow and dribblin.

a google image search ('safesearch' switched off) for boobies will distract you from your sore throat.

Ginger tea with honey in works for me.

Peel and slice up some fresh ginger in about a pint of water. bring to the boil and simmer for about 5 minutes. Strain, add honey then drink.

^ As Dan says above, hot water with honey in it, and other stuff.

I usually go for a toddy with an English measure of whisky or brandy, the juice of a quarter of a lemon squeezed into it, a slice of fresh ginger and the tops of some cloves crumbled into it.

But the main thing for a sore throat is the honey.

Merocaine lozenges properly anesthitizes throat IMO worked for me. Is more pain relief than cure tho.

+ 1 TCP

I actually think it tastes quite nice!

+ stick a pin in your foot every 2 seconds. That will stop you thinking about the sore throat.

Do you want me to come round and kick you in the cobblers at five minute intervals?

It'll take your mind off your sore throat

Do you have 'the kissing disease' (EBV, glandular fever)?

Good Grief child-man...

Paracetamol at the recommended intervals; this will provide pain relief. If you are clever, you can use ibuprofen at the recommended intervals too, but staggered so each dose is inbetween your paracetamol dosing.

The pain is due largely to inflammation, and Histamine release is a component of inflammation, so try an anti-histamine tablet before bedtime too.

And soup.

+1 for gargling with TCP. It works. Tastes no worse than Bells Whisky, infact I think I prefer the TCP

The missis makes me a honey and lemon drink. Not the powder ,the proper stuff. Something about antisepticness or something she says.

Have you been putting unsavoury things in your mouth again when meeting strangers?

You've been warned about this kind of thing before
