[Closed] Separated Shoulder Pain (Old Injury)

I am in some degree of pain here, and have been for a week or so now. I did my shoulder in quite a few years ago, and other than when it was fresh it has only caused very occasional grief when it is cold and damp and then only for a short time. This last week though the pain has been significant (to the point of painkillers, which is quite extreme for me!), and more ongoing coming on every evening.

Any suggestions on what to try to alleviate the discomfort and anything that could be done in the way of preventative measures would be most appreciated!

I am trying to avoid the doctors which may lead to hospital and surgery!
