OK, what can someone do if they have your bank details, apart from sending you money?
You just need someones bank account # and sort code to transfer money into thier account right?
So can anything else be done with those details?
Ta, Duane.
you mean the same details that are on every cheque you send out?
If you're worried, set up an account that is only for sending and receiving money in this way. This means people don't have the details for accounts with lots of money in them.

Send me your details and I'll see what's possible. I'd also like to know if it's possible to put money into your account using your card number and 3 digit security code, please send these too, oh, and your proper name.
I'm naturally cautious about stuff like that but whilst I wouldn't go posting that kind of info on a forum, I would be comfortable providing it to someone for the purposes of transfering money to me (and frequently do).
if you're happy sending someone a cheque, then you give less info by supplying someone your bank account number and sort code.

That should be enough info.
Edit: Dammit!
I think Clarkson printed his a a paper/online once to prove how safe it was
somebody managed to sign him up with a monthly direct debit to a charity 😆
they probably only managed it by getting his address too I assume.
as allready said I'd not post those details on a public forum but happily send out for specific payments

He gave more than his bank details though.
