I’m about to sell the Vito.
I haven’t sold a vehicle for decades. It was paper copies of Autotrader and local classifieds back then.
What’s the strategy these days?
Ebay, Facebook market, autotrader, everywhere? What’s worth paying for or not?

I’ll advertise it on here for a start. It’s the best family bike car I’ve ever had.

Get a "base price" off webuyanycar/van/truck etc then go from there.
When i got rid of my last van they were £1k more than i was offered for trade in and about £1k less than what they were going for privately but without the hassle of tyre kickers etc

Yes - will post on here for all the biker market. It’s an 08 SWB 115CDI Auto Comfort pack, privacy windows, 5 seats.

I did use Webuyanycar once, they took off so much £ for each and every scratch and I decided I won’t be using them again.

"Will"... I think "have" is the tense you're looking for.

The wrong brand for the biker market to be interested.

Be better advertising it on the dog walking websites . From what I see around here they appear to be the Vito fan Bois.

It's all dub life round here don't you know.

I put my van on ebay last week for around £15. It's getting over 100 views a day and I've answered a bunch of questions. I'm still waiting for someone to actually show up or make an offer.

Still hard to resist a well placed stealth ad though.

I put mine on eBay as an auction last year.

Within the first couple of days bids had massively exceeded what I expected to sell it for.

First couple that turned up to look made an offer and I took the listing down. They picked it up less than a week after I’d put the initial ad up.

It was an insulated and lined T5 though.

I had that coming.

Actually on the day the engine blew up last year I'd have snapped your hand off. Now I'm genuinely gutted we have to sell it because it's exactly what I wanted. I just can't bring myself to do a DIY rear seat installation and then strap my first born child into it.

Tbh could be worse. seen some horrific seat installs by supposed professional camper builders that I wouldn't trust to transport an enemy never mind my own.

Such a terribly regulated market can see why some countries just flat dont allow it because there's always someone willing to exploit it for a quid...and mugs pay it thinking because it's pro it's right

I had mine valued at we buy any car/van, nearly 3500 more than I was being offered trade in at several garages and that’s on a 7500 pound vehicle.

So does anyone use autotrader any more?

I know exactly what you mean. Even though I can get all the right parts from the 5 seat version of my van it still doesn't feel right. We (the Mrs especially!) wants our little bundle of joy in something more substantial than a tin can with an old second hand bench seat.

So does anyone use autotrader any more?

Autotrader is almost 100% dealers. Ebay is much cheaper and easier for private sellers and much better for the kind of old, obscure stuff I like. Facebook marketplace has stolen away the scrote end of the market.

Shark attack, for my install I followed the guidelines for minibus conversions i.e massively overbuilt to ensure it would pass a destructive crash test, without having to actually crash a vehicle. Obviously the big manufacturers go for the destructive test as they can slim things down to minimum weight whilst still meeting the requirements, and save money/more efficient vehicles in the long run.

Pretty confident that my rear bench seat is safe as I followed those guidelines and used the front bench seat in the back, the only thing it doesn't have is seat belt pretensioners.

OP - there's a Vito Faceache page that stuff seems to move on pretty quickly with people looking for them.

As well as Kennel club types, also seem popular with motorbike riders for Moto/track and anglers.
And mountain bikers that want some decent spec and power with out scene tax 😉

I sold my van last week on the classifieds. Took about 20 minutes to sell but I wasn't asking for much.

@dazzydw got a price in mind? Drop me a pm.

Beyond that ebay is the easiest/cheapest place to sell. 19.99 for a classified advert (fixed price not auction) for a month. Autotrader is used but mostly traders rather than private.
