So first ever race photographed this weekend (Dalby WC) and I've had an email from a racer asking if I had any photos of them.
I found just one, it's not far off perfectly sharp with a couple of sponsor logos visible.

Presuming it's for commercial use, what do I say and how do I go about it??

Why do you think it's commercial?

How are they going to use it?
Web site?
Magazine?
Brochure/catalogue?
How will the sale help you? Are you looking for a future in event photography?

You can use the price calculator thing on Alamy to get a ballpark figure based on intended usage. There is also some info on there about different types of licenses.

I would just email him a low res watermarked version and see if he likes it first though.

Go on, lets have a look at it or give us a link to the pic so we can see you in warrior mode.

Looks better without the watermark mind.

I wish the watermark covered up a lot more tbh. 😛

Oooh, nice, I like the moving ones. The Spanish audience just complain that they're out of focus. 🙄
One of my favourites... 😀

Nice pics asherh, but I'd watermark them before putting them on Flickr though, they look just about perfect for Facebook at the moment and only upload to a max of medium 500, or no-one will buy...

Resize with FastStone before uploading, it'll do watermarks and resize in batches.
