I’ve set up a shop with some vintage stuff and some other things I’ve made myself.
Anyone any advice?
Not sure about the international shipping either.
How do you price it?
Anyone?
I passed this to my daughter to respond (she has a vintage jewellery shop on Etsy) but she said “good questions, let me know if there are answers” - sorry, not helpful but shows, you are not alone.
How do you price?
What are the actual costs to make whatever you're selling including design, manufacture and packaging. Remember to pay yourself in this cost - you don't work for free.
Then add in a percentage on top for overheads and profit.
Postage will be on top of purchase price usually.
The vintage stuff is basically the cost you pay plus the profit you want. Check against similar items for sale online.
Myself and my wife have two Etsy shops as well as an online webshop.
Pricing - at least double / triple what it costs in terms of materials, including packaging if you're trying to make it a business out of it.
International shipping isn't difficult, you just need to know the size and weight of your package and find a price online. Certain countries like Australia have a big list of prohibited products you can't export - particularly if it's made from organic, plant or animal materials
Postage is always charged at cost unless you want some bad reviews.
There's me thinking you'd made a spelling mistake...
Shows what I know. 🙂
