We had a holiday planned and paid for to Croatia for 3 adults and 1 child leaving on Tuesday 8th from Manchester for 7 days.

Our child can not travel and we are looking at our options to sell the holiday.

We realise this is very last minute, anyone done this or have any better ideas?

If the child can't travel, can you claim off your travel insurance?

Though I put 3 adults and 1 child, it is really Mum and dad and 2 kids (18 & 14).

We could leave the youngest with grand parents but this breaks the family up, we would prefer to rearrange but it is too late.

Selling the package is the current preferred option, just never done this before.

I think your only option is insurance, at least you'll get your money back. It's very short notice.

Selling a last minute TUI package holiday
is this even a thing? Will TUI shift the booking, names etc? Or is it like buying a 2nd hand bike, no warranty etc 😂

Looks like it’s late to transfer the holiday to some one else. It says you need 7 days notice

https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/holiday-cancellations-and-compensation/cancelling-a-package-holiday/

But contacting TUI to ask about transferring the holiday would be the obvious next step

We can change the names for £25 each so transfer is possible.

The insurance will not cover it.

Assuming all the above, facebook is probably your best bet. It has the best 'network' effect. There will be people in your extended network thinking of going on a last minute holiday.

Your only option is social media, stealth ads on forums etc

Might be worth looking for forums that specialise in flagging up last minute bargains. I assume they exist...moneysavingexpert and Facebook groups might be where you'd find them.

I’d say that a 14 year old staying with grandparents will be waited on hand and foot far more than you will on your hols 😂

I’d love to be able to go on holiday and leave my 14 year old behind.
