Any9ne use or have something like the above? I fit lots of curtain poles and I’m always looking for ways to be more efficient, the only problem I can foresee is that the tripod is 1.1m and poles may be 2.1m high, but can the head be angled?

No, generally, while they’re self-levelling, they do need to be sat roughly level anyway. You can get an expanding pole that you clamp between floors and ceilings to which you then either clamp or stick (if pole is metal and laser comes with magnetic stand) the laser. That’s how I generally see them used on sites where horizontal lines are needed.

EDIT: search “floor to ceiling laser mount” Some kits might come with one already included - so might be more economical to buy it that way. DeWalt, Leica all do them. They can be pricey to buy stand alone - not sure how good/shite cheaper ones are.

I have the Stanley cube one.

I won't lie, it's awesome!

I've had to put my tripod on top of tables before to get more height but it does come with a grip, whereby you can clamp it to stuff so quite easy to fashion something to help you get the height, but as mentioned you need to be more or less level to start with. It tells you if you're not though.

Great tools.

I've got the Quigo. Very happy with it. It's got a clamp base and you can usually find something to clamp it to. Eg a door frame or a ladder. It can be a little fiddly to set up. It self levels but needs to be fairly level or it won't fire. It's also a bit awkward to adjust a few cm up down. You can't angle it up. Not a big deal though. Makes jobs so much easier.

I use a leica laser. Very good product.
One thing to bear in mind, green lasers are easier to see in bright sunlight than red, if your using it for curtain poles might be something to consider.

I use a dewalt laser level with a 6ft tripod off amazon. Awesome bit of kit but would need to put it on top of something to reach curtain rail height as cannot be pointed upwards more than 3 deg

I bought one for tiling which would be perfect for you.
It comes with a pole (in sections) which fits spring loaded between the floor and ceiling. This means you can attatch it at any level you like.
Can't remember the make or model but will have a look in the garage in the morning and post it up.

I daily use a Dewalt laser for kitchen and bathroom fitting, I used to use a tripod but now find it easier and quicker to use using the magnets on the back of it to attach to a floor to ceiling plasterboard prop from B&Q.

If you want a cheap one this is £8 at B&Q: https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/macallister-10m-cross-line-laser-at-bq-for-8-2872049 Reviews seem OK, and its hardly a big loss if its not that good.
