We're trying to plan out a big holiday next year for us and maybe some friends. It would be family groups and would probably benefit from everyone having their own wee self catered pod or something.
So far I've discovered one site with 3 lodges available at £2k per week each. Don't know if that's the going rate but wife already making noises about being able to afford a trip to Europe for that price... 🙄
Google hasn't yielded any results for chalet parks or similar, can anyone here recommend anything?
A dozen or more years ago we stayed in a 'wigwam' at the hostel in Portnalong. The have wigwams, a hostel and a couple of small holiday cottages. When staying in the wigwams you can use the hostel kitchen, which was quite large, so you have an option for a big all together meal. Also allows people to come and go for varying lengths of time if it suits them. Pub within walking distance and I think it was walking from there we saw Eagles en route to a beach.
At the basic end of self catering but an option to suit tastes / budgets.

Edit: the official wigwams site shows other locations on Skye. Google Wigwams Scotland. They are like basic chalets, better than the garden sheds that a lot of campsites rent as pods.
How many does each lodge sleep ? If 6 plus and decent luxury then maybe 2k is decent, but I guess they have likely added a fair premium covid tax..

2 double rooms and a sofa bed in living area, not ideal if people staying up late or coming or going in morning.
Will look up the wigwams, knowing my wife it might be a hard sell!
^^^^ ooft, that seems well pricey to me..
This worth a look? Hostel but private rooms and communal facilities. Looks to be an over 12 age limit though!
Not what you're after in many, many ways, but Raasay House could be worth a look. Plenty of accomodation, family rooms/dorms etc as well as fancier stuff. And although clearly not on Skye you're right on the boat over to Sconser so handier for access to quite a few hills than several areas on Skye itself, back to the mainland is straightforward. And Raasay is really pretty great for outdoorsy stuff with wee ones. A possibility?
I love the idea of Raasay in many ways, but we'll be juggling less outdoorsy partners and kids who haven't been conditioned to the 'unique' pleasures of a summer holiday in the Highlands! 😂
I think what I'm really after is something like Auchrannie on Arran, thankfully within most of our budgets in lieu of a foreign holiday. Nice hotel and lodges with a small range of indoor activities for wet days or tired 4 year olds 🙄
