Due to a lack of maintenance and a year or so not using it a while back, my adjustable razor has seized so I cannot vary the setting or disassemble it 🙁  To be honest, I didn't realise you could take them apart, I also didn't really register that it had seized as with soapy hands there is no grip on the handle.

So far I have soaked it in a 50:50 water vinegar solution for 30 minutes, WD40'd it, dunked it in boiling water, 48 hours soaking in plusgas, some tentative taps on the workbench, and giving it a few warning shows with a rubber mallet.

The adjustable section of the head appears to have a little movement so I'm pretty sure its the threads that are corroded, does anyone have any other ideas to get it open?  I could go for neat vinegar but I know someone else stripped all the gold plating off theirs, mine is the silver satin finish.

On the plus side, its the cleanest the thing has ever looked!

My murker did similar to this, it was the circlip it has extended some how. Prising the blade holder up did the trick but it now can only bet set a minimum setting.

Mine is on setting 3 but the blade holder appears to be in the lowest position...

It looks like a poor quality razor compare to the Gillette fatboy that I have even when it is made in the 50s.

When I got it I just cleaned it up like you do with your Merkur and everything works.
