Anyone know much about this?
We moved into our new build house 12 months ago.
We were set-up with EON but I swapped to British Gas after a couple of months
We've got solar panels and I can see on the In-Home Display that we do put a good bit of electricity back into the grid.
It looks like only EON, Octopus and Bulb do these new SEG Export things (that have replaced the feed-in tarif)
Has anyone set-up one of these Export Tarifs and how does it work? (I don't know anyone who has)
Do I simply pick one of these companies and apply for an export tarif (with the undestanduing i can still pick any other actual gas/elecetric supplier)
Thanks

depends on the export tarriff you choose
some are pegged to you taking their import tarriff but many are not. just look at the details.
Youll need to show your MCS or equivalent certified install.
youll very likely need a smart meter - there are ways round it but the cheapest way is a smart meter ... and it must do half hourly readings ....... - I need to get one of these fitted now 🙁 been putting that off but id think youll be ok with a house thats <12months old

Yep - got both of those. When we bought the house it was a bit wooly about how that side of things work and very naively I thought I might see a credit on my bill at some point.
Now that we're heading into winter after a long year of sun I've eventually got round to looking at this 🙁
Doesn't seem to be much in the way of easy to understand information about
It may be worth checking your smart meter with potential suppliers. Not all meters work with all suppliers.
Octopus use 'Secure' meters, don't know about any other companies.
