I effin' love N-Dubz.
My first proper gig was Celine Dion at Wembley and it was great
Some show tunes are belters. Probably cheating slightly given the artist.
i like phil collins there i said it
tbh i could list a load of music that i listen to that won't be down with the cool kids.
ps i love this also (and can play the bass part badly lol)
those glee (bleep) can go do one though
Phil Collins has put out some incredible music in his time.
Status quo... Amazing live.
Lana del Rey.
Vic Damone On the street where you live
Kathleen Ferrier What is life
Presley Fool such as I
could be a Home Service Two Way Family Favourites playlist
Wilson Phillips
Kylie
Debbie Gibson
Will Smith
Prefab Sprout
Paul Young
I'm not ashamed of any music I like.
I'm at a Witch Fever gig just cos I fancy the bassist
Status quo… Amazing live.
Seen them a few years ago in an open air concert. They were fantastic but they only played the one tune all night.
I’m not ashamed of any music I like.
Very much this
Best gig I've ever been to, for the sheer amazing spectacle of it all, was Take That on their Circus Tour. Proper jaw-droppingly good entertainment.
I also like Rudimental
Will occasionaly listen to U2. <Lister will probably mock me for qite some time now.>
@racefaceec90 you need this:
It's not entirely serious
Ooh, I'd forgotten Wilson Philips. I've got two of their CDs too
Taylor Swift is really quite good these days.
Status quo… Amazing live.
I can agree. And also Phil Collins.
My daughter loves modern musicals. My Apple playlist includes songs from Kinky Boots, Wicked, Mean Girls.....
I love bossa nova
Taylor Swift is
really quite goodeven better these days.
Taylor Swift is brilliant as is Lana Del Ray.
I love bossa nova
The first Nouveau Vague album is going on now...
[ best band name pun ever ]
I’m not ashamed of any music I like.
Mainly this but I do choose my moments very carefully when I chose to listen to any Nickelback. If you go past their commercial hits there's some good stuff there, it's mainly throwaway tunes but after seeing them live at a festival I rather enjoy some of it.
Taylor Swift, N-Dubz- both are guilty pleasures
Lana Del Ray is decent- no shame there!
Earth wind and fire always raise the mood for me.
Most who know me are quite surprised that I'm a big Tori Amos fan. Seen her live loads of times too.
Lana is great too, but she's also got enough melancholy to fit in with the rest of my music mix.
I took my Mum to see Status Quo in 1972. She liked "a good beat".
So Solid Crew.
Country and Western, NO. Dolly Parton YES.
I love a bit of Dr Hook:-
Slyvias Mother, when you're in love with a beautiful woman, sexy eyes, the cover of Rolling Stone.... pure fantastic cheese
Most who know me are quite surprised that I’m a big Tori Amos fan. Seen her live loads of times too.
I don’t understand why liking Tori would be considered in any way a secret shame. She’s an extraordinary songwriter, and any woman who writes and records a song about being raped at gunpoint should be praised by everyone.
Mainly this but I do choose my moments very carefully when I chose to listen to any Nickelback.
I can associate with this too - Never Again is a brilliant track, a colleague was in a band who opened their set with this.
I love bossa nova
The opposite of a guilty pleasure, surely?
Nothing says good taste and sophistication like a bit of Gilberto, Getz or Jobim.
I love a bit of Dr Hook:-
Yes but not Sylvia's Mother for God's sake.
Makin' it Natural.
I was enjoying some Sean Paul on the radio this morning.
A girl I was seeing at the time persuaded me to go and see Chris de Burgh live (this was the eighties). Lady in Red was as cringingly awful as I'd expected but the rest was surprisingly good fun.
His performance of Patricia the Stripper is still one of the best live things I've seen.
I love a bit of Dr Hook:-
Yes but not Sylvia’s Mother for God’s sake.
Makin’ it Natural.
But probably not Only sixteen these days! 😀
My parents liked them, so I grew up with them in the background, and I caught them on a Whistle Test repeat a few months ago - they were very entertaining.
Wham! Club Tropicana a belter of an upbeat happy joyous song.
Another vote for Taylor Swift here - saw her live in 2018 - one of the best gigs i've even been to, and i'm no stranger to live music.
That Carley Rea Jepsen track.
Taylor Swift, Love Story, and the one with Ed Sheeran with the kids in the video.
Hopelessly devoted from Grease makes me cry.
Unashamedly Rick Astley! He won over the male audience 100% when we saw him at Thetford a few years ago!
Love a bit of David Guetta. Pure edm pop cheeseyness.
Taylor Swift, Carley Rae Jepsen, Lana Del Rey - love all of those.
My fresh addition would be Five Finger Death Punch who are appalling and I suspect would overlap completely in a Venn diagram of them and Trump supporters, but they are great if you're in the mood.
Also I still listen to loads of emo and pop punk, Blink 182 and the Bloodhound Gang are probably the most embarrassing to admit to but I have a long list..
@Marin - that's one of my favourite tunes!! Nothing wrong with it!
My shame is that i listen to French bistro music when cooking!!
Haha I pretend I'm in my farm house in the South of France whilst using my Le Creuset butterdish at breakfast.
Fun and sunshine for everyone.
Im partial to a bit of disco and also country rock
The carpenters?
Amateurs...I was a member of the Abba fan club.
(I did think long and hard before posting this)
As said above, Taylor Swift is improving massively with age.
I do also listen to 'Into The Gap' by The Thompson Twins quite a lot although I'm not entirely sure if I should be ashamed of that?
Taylor Swift is a great songwriter and good musician too. No shame in listening to her. In fact Folklore is a brilliant album.
Cheesy metal is my secret sin as per the other thread (ManoWar, Twisted Sister, Helloween etc) stuff I would never admit to listening to if asked in person. It’s just so joyously bad and made better by the band members taking it really seriously.
I got my mum to drive me 20 miles to watch Abba The Movie in the cinema
