Hi. I live in Kirby Muxloe in West Leicestershire. I am looking for locals to join on the local trails on the evenings or for longer jaunts to the Peaks or Cannock on the weekends. I have been riding the area for many years but I'm currently a little short of riding buddies unfortunately. Let me know if you are interested.
I'm in Blaby, but havent done any MTB since February due to covid. I'd rather do a fast 2 hours, something like Cannocks Dog twice, than go for multi hours in the Peak. Hicks Lodge is ok for a bit of training, 2 laps can be done in 45 minutes.
I'm in a Club in the peak, but havent been out with them for 4 years now.
There was a group from here that used to meet on Wednesday nights, Whitwick woods was the original meet point, but other places around Charnwood were tried too.
Forget south Leics., I havent found any decent joined up trails. Loads of Bridleways, but they all have gates at every field, so it becomes almost a walk, with a hundred metres of cycling every now and then.
Hi Alan. Thanks for the reply. If you fancy a covid safe local ride then let me know. I know what you mean about South Leicestershire. I tend to head up towards Swithland woods and Beacon Hill. Which Peak District club are you a member of? I may look to join a club up there once we are through the covid period.
Derwent Valley ATC.
Meet each Tuesday night in the Ambergate/Matlock area, then most Sunday mornings too.
Obviously needs to be covid compliant at the moment, so the Club are not publicising anything, it's all via email to members.
I'm staying away from people as much as possible, so no meeting with anyone, even if its outdoor at the moment. But when it gets better, I'm always up for a local ride.
