Seals often travel inland via streams and rivers, can't see anything fishy other than his tea in this one.

When I lived in Lancaster, I'd quite regularly see seals as far inland as the first weir on the River Lune which is a fair way inland for a seal to swim. Occasionally one would get stranded in the salt marshes around Glasson & Cockerham. They farm sheep there so it was a bit weird to see a flock of sheep and a confused seal in the middle.

as I said, it's a fairly regular occurrence
Back in the day when I went fishing we got regular visit to our beat on the River Earn, nr Auchterarder by seals. That's quite a distance from the sea.

quite often see seals in the river outside my office. we are about ten miles inland on the Dart.
