hi, i'm looking to sell my sea kayak but have no idea what its worth.
it's a p+h iceflow in pretty much original condition [yellow on top and white underside] although it needs new lines and elastics and 2x rubber hatch covers. I have installed a back rest from a sit on kayak.
I've had this for 20 years and fairly sure I paid £500 2nd hand from p+h in derby. I'm not sure but don't think there's too many of these about.the last 6 years it has been stored in my garage.
any ideas of its worth would be appreciated.

cheers in advance

£450 - £600 Seems to be the right ball park depending on condition, wheres it been stored outside or inside. will also effect it, its a shame about the age of these as thats what lets them down but excelent boats really.

hi cvilla, i'm based nr kings lynn in norfolk. if i do sell the kayak it will be pick up only as delivery would be expensive and also the buyer would want to see it before payment. the kayak is hanging in my garage and i've not thought about photos yet. i know its differcult to price something without photos but just a rough idea of a price would be sufficent at the moment

cheers

what cockpit has it got I suspect it will be an ocean deck (small round), if it was keyhole long and egg shapped it would deffinatly add value, but if its good condition with the ocean deck id be asking £500, key hole £600.

thanks Rscott, for a couple of years i had the iceflow wrapped in over site plastic stored when not in use on a shed roof. the remaining 17/18 years its been in a barn and my garage. it is a great boat, which is why i've been reluctant to sell it.

Rscott, i've been and had a look and it is an egg shaped cockpit, not the ocean one. bit more info, the rear hatch is oval, front hatch is round. there is a drop down skeg [no rudder ] and i believe somewhere there is an id number, without taking it down and checking i can't be sure.

Id be looking for £500- £600 if the hulls in good shape, Smooth no webbed fiber glass showing. Get some t cut and polish it up, and see how it looks.

I paddle a beaten up nigel dennis explorers and have paddled allover the west coast of Scotland and Wales, and have been kayaking for 16 years. the great thing about fibre glass boats is they hold value quite well. try selling it on ukriversguidebook.co.uk it can be slow but there an honest community.
