Hi all. In a moment of stupidity I deleted some photos and video from my SD card in my camera. I immediately took it out and intend to recover the data which I think is fine, but I'd like a recommendation of software if anyone's been here before? I've tried a few but they then need to be paid for. I don't mind paying but would rather pay for one I know will work, and isn't crazy money. Thanks

Apologies OP, this is a hijack. I have an android phone with a dead battery and goosed usb connection (so no connecting to a PC) and the SD card has been converted to internal storage. Is there any way I can recover the data on there, short of buying a new battery for a phone I've already replaced and hoping it comes charged?

Hi. I had the same when some very important photos were deleted. 85 bucks later and i got them all back and now have the software in case it happens again. Not cheap but the photos were worth far more to us.

PhotoRec (part of TestDisk). https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Download
It is free, and usually works well for recovering photos. There is now a GUI version (QPhotoRec), which is easy enough to use.

easus will do a small number of files for free, you might get lucky.

Diskdigger has a free option but it's pretty useless, I got a £10 licence key for it and it's been decent but there were more damaged images than I like. Having said that I've no idea if anything else could have done better
