Maybe everyone but me knew about this already, and/or its not that useful. But it struck me as neat 🙂

I concluded that they have just rebranded Open Street Map.

Locally the audited paths vary from landrover track to 3-point contact cliff edge.

Same here. I had a look at it and didn't spot anything locally that wasn't already on OSM, much of which I've added myself. I wonder if they've just been encouraging their members to do more of that.

it looks like "audit path" feature could be useful for recording what a path is like and any access issues. But somehow I don't think the ramblers will be interested in a paths' from a cyclists perspective.

Yikes, I'd certainly be taking some of the un-audited paths near Auchterarder with a pinch of salt (and preferably a machete...)

Definitely interesting but I wouldn’t put much faith in it. One of the paths local to me is just a graveyard. While others are desire lines across fields and fences.

They seem to have taken gps traces from personal devices as continuous paths (eg Deeside line) have been broken into short arbitrary segments.

I started a thread recently asking how you go about identifying paths in Scotland as they're not noted on OS maps. After a week in Dumfries and speaking to locals, they said you need local knowledge and confidence to roam (and rebut landowners) to capitalise on the roaming rights. We've seen a few local paths waymarked and this ramblers map looks to be doing what the OS map doesn't. Maybe people are realising that encouraging outdoor exercise needs better information?

Last stage of the whw into Glen Nevis is really a bit of a best guess where maps are concerned as the official route changes for Forestry operations. It doesn't seem to be named on this and I can see why.

There’s quite a bit on the OS maps. There’s also lots of local routes sign posted. Otherwise if you see a path you walk along it. If there’s a locked gate/ house you don’t. Pretty straightforward. And according to that map if you fancy a little wander across a field and over a fence you just do it!
