...with the TwinLoc - does this mean I can’t use foam grips?  Has anyone done so?

You can, I trimmed the end of the stock grip to use as a shim for the twinloc, you can then use whatever grips you like.

If it's anything like the KS dropper levers that are integrated into a lockring, you should just be able to use is without the grip on there. Failing that, cut the grip to a tiny stub at the lockring end, then put the foam grip on next to it.

Or just wrap a teeny piece of old inner tube around the bars, fit the twin loc over it and if you are bothered trim the excess inner tube with a Stanley blade

If new, scott kindly sent you a small piece of plastic in your accessory bag that is used to allow the lever to be mounted without the syncros grips. Much like shimano do for ispec/separate shifter/brake.
Frame only is even better, they send a second twinloc so you can choose under or over, left or right.
I ran my spark with esi's using the included spacer to make it all work.

If its not new, preferred solution from above i guess.

It's new. I'll check the accessory bag thanks . I do remember an extra piece in addition to the sag indicators.

I cut the lock ring off the grips and mounted my ESI grips.

Found it thanks, a small shim with “...for TwinLoc without Scott integrated...” stamped on it, the kind of thing I’d normally lose in a frenzy of new bike assembly. 🙂

Nothing like that in my bag, just two bits of plastic with Shimano on them, any idea what they're for??

They are likely if you decide not to run your shifters as ispec. They come with the brakes in the oe build kit and get bagged up.
They go inside the brake lever mount like the twinloc thingy wouldv'e.

except it's a full Sram build with Sram brakes too. bizarre.

Anyway, I'm gonna ask Scott for the shim thingy as it'll save me running my bodge.
