Found this website recently and was amazed that their were so many long distance trails (albeit walking trails but I'm sure could be cycled).

https://www.scotlandsgreattrails.com/

Some I knew about and have ridden but some I'd never heard of and might be worth investigating.

Right enough, and I've ridden that a couple of times.

Affric-Kintail Way is a strange omission. I'd have thought it was old enough and well established enough to be included.

John o'Groats Way is still "under construction" but there are many parts that don't lend themselves to cycling.

Badenoch Way has been largely subsumed by the Speyside Way extension.

East Highland Way is a decent ride to connect the WHW and SSW.

Maybe we should compile our comments and let them know (or just send them a link to this thread).

For the likes of the Badger Divide and ATM, it's less obvious who the "trail managers" are so I can see why they are not included.

Yeah, all four of the trails I listed meet all of the criteria for inclusion.

Hebridean Way and the Skye Trail do too.

I got a response from Jacquetta and I think I may have ruffled a few feathers by mentioning her website's omission of the Fife Pilgrim Way. It would appear that she's actually writing a guide book on it.

After looking up her website, I bought a few guide books and look forward to reading them, especially the Rob Roy one as I might ride this next week.

If you do the RRW, make sure you don't follow it up the Birks of Aberfeldy. Either follow it West to East or skip that short section on the wee road/track.

Hmmm ... I think this the first tangible evidence that they're planning a breakaway state north of Loch Ness!

That bit has been trying to break away for a few hundred million years now.
