Anyone done this journey lately?
I'll hopefully be going next week, Cairnryan to either Larne or Belfast on the ferry.
I can't find anything on the google about any issues.
I've had all three jabs so I'm assuming noting to worry about? (apart from storm related ferry delays, but last time I went over was during Storm Dennis and that was fine) Do I need to show an LFT or anything before they let me on/off the boat?
Anything else to think about?
Non-essential journey (going to a running race)

I took the van over just before Christmas and no-one stopped me or asked me anything, straight off and gone, same coming back into Liverpool.

I went in March (during a sort of lockdown) and July last year, just drove on and off, no issues at all. I do the route once or twice a year (next going in March). The most I get is the security/customs looking at my ticket when i pull up and asking where I am off to before waving me on (stena Cairnryan-Larne route). No requirements for any testing travelling from Scotland to Northern Ireland.

as a Local, I have been over 3 times in the last 12 months...no border checks if travelling on to Republic of Ireland....no hassles at all.... do a price comparison between stenaline and P&O and also go through topcashback... Stenaline takes 2.30h whereas P&O take 2 hours (all depends on your final destination 🙂 )

Thanks everyone.
Final destination is Portaferry.
P&O have a 'camper for the price of a car' offer on just now (still £114 each way!) and then, as Davy suggests, a cashback site (Quidco in my case) saves me another 7%.
Still loads more than the channel though. Whatever happened to Borris's Bridge?

"Whatever happened to Borris’s Bridge?" that was always going to be a non event, due to the millions of tons of WWII munitions that was dumped in Beauforts dyke, munitions still being washed up along our coastline here.....

we have been complaining for years about the sky high prices on the north channel routes..... scandalous.... we paid £311 for a car with 2 passengers back in December 2021.... P&O was even more expensive that Stenaline at the time....£386 IIRC....

No issues travelling either way.

Just the usual checks at the port.
