I am considering getting a scooter to travel into London a day or two a week. Its a 34 mile round trip, filtering for all of it.

I am hoping that the scooter will be light and easy enough to do the local shopping etc with.

Any recommendations for a budget of around £1000?

And it has to be younger than 2007ish, so I can actually ride it into C London without worrying about the ULEZ.

thanks

That’s a tough call and one that you’ll find hard to fulfill.

£1k isn’t a lot..

Try Gumtree

Have you costed in Training as well?  Faff Time?  Insurance?  Storage?

I have been down this path and nothing beats an Electric Bicycle especially on a budget.

15 miles is easy.

Unless you are pretty decent on the spanners, don’t touch a cheap Chinese one (Pulse Scout, Lexmoto etc). They’re all pretty much the same bike but build quality is shocking.

My nephew has one and has had to buy another one as a parts donor machine for me when I have to fix it for him. This is literally once a month.

£3k will get you a good one that'll be nippy & reliable.  £1k... not so much.  They hold their value well though, at least until it gets smashed up, and it will.

Yamaha Xmax is the pick of the bunch (I have one), the 250cc is the best option.
