Anyone tried them?  I'm a big fan of their boots and I'm tempted to try their running shoes but wondered if anyone else has some real world experience of them.  Reviews are all positive but I'm a little worried they're too focused on drier European terrain than we get here in the UK.

I had an older pair of Neutrons - improved immensely by having them resolved by a grippier sole - the original ones were a bit plasticky/lethal on wet rock. I like the look of some of the newer ones, but the sole doesn’t look “off-road” enough for me

Not used the latest models, so things may have changed, but my experience of the original, older ones was that they were a bit solid and clunky and lacked grip on softer stuff. I think they were basically specced for hard-surfaced, alpine trails rather than the UK. But the latest ones may be different. La Sportiva Mutants have been a better choice for me on UK hill terrain.

They are doing ST versions which have more aggressive soles, but they're a little eye watering price wise.  Might keep an eye out for any really good deals.  My wife doesn't think I need anymore running shoes but I reckon they're just like bikes.  n+1.

What do you want them for, normally have? I've had a couple of Ribelle Runs, and I've been really pleased with them, but I've used them mostly for general mountain use, some scrambling, approach shoes, not so much running.  They've worn very well, the midsole is still really good, no holes in the upper, unusually it's the sole that's worn out first. Don't take that as a criticism tho' as the sole was good , gripped well on rocks, but normally I destroy uppers first.

Not sure what conditions you run in.  I'm in West Coast Norway so lots of of rocks , roots, some mud but if you're running a lot of peaty tracks in the Peak, probably not for you.  The Ribelles area bit clunky to run in.

Similar fit to Scarpa that I'd recommend are Hoka Zinals, and you should be able to get some on sale.  They're my number one trail shoe.  Again, not the best in the Dark Peak, but would work most other places.  Lugs aren't super chunky, but seem to work well enough in namby pamby Norway :-).  My current pair have been used every week or so the last 18 months , and only the last few runs I've thought they're feeling a bit hard

They’re for mountain use, sky running essentially, so the lakes, highlands etc. Rocky and technical with some scrambling.  Should really try some on somewhere but it’s difficult when you live in a rural backwater!

Have prices got silly or am I just looking in the wrong places? Been looking for some new shoes and prices are substantially more than I remember?
