She's packing up. Heading off.

This morning's run was breath steaming cold, red berries in trees, deer down at river, a few turning leaves and heavy dew...

Oh yes, skiing season as well.

All that wonderful fretting about whether there’ll be any/good snow/endless webcam checking 😁

Had a cracker of a summer though didn’t we 🔥🔥🔥

So Autumn will be a wonderful colourfest 🌈🌳🌲🎄🌿☘️🍀🍁🍂🍄🥀🌻

Thursday evening trail run ended in the dark and cold, it was only 2030 and felt dankly darkly Autumn.

Lovely cold crisp morning on the SarfCarsf, the suns still warm but there’s a chilled westerly coming down the Solent 💨☁️🌤☀️

🙁

Shamefully, I sacked off yesterdays planned ride because I was cold and tired and didn't fancy a soaking. I ligged on the sofa and watched the Defiant ones* instead .

(* dr dre/jimmy iovine doc not the movie- highly recommended).

🙂

It's been a great one but I am gutted it's over as I truely felt I came alive during that heatwave (so did my tortoise and she's hardly left her greenhouse since the weather changed). Not to be ungrateful but it was a bit of a shock when it came crashing to an end in August as was hoping for another good month or so but it's been cool windy and rainy the last few weeks. I think I may be part tortoise as I feel like hibernating in winter and my routine changes from outside nearly all the time with loads of energy to not wanting to go out much and fireing up the wood burner and xbox.

Meh, one kink in the jet stream and it'll be roasty toasty again 🤞

It has been a belter of a summer though 😎

I love this time of year, weather cooling down so i'm not a human puddle. Kids going back to college and the expectation that this year will be different (i know, i know).

Plus the veuelta, tour of britan and drag week if i can catch the live stream.

Been superb last few months...in fact this whole year has had 3 proper different seasons so far, autumn appears to be on it's way which means we'll have have all 4 proper seasons instead of the indifference of the last few years. Proper Autumn, proper winter, proper spring and proper summer...and votes for all, etc!

She's coming but not here yet. The joy of being in North Scotland is that was out group ride at 8.30 on Thursday night coming down heartbreak ridge on a sundowner. Was ace.

Had the same on Tuesday at pitfichie.

Forecast is for it to pick up again in September. Not hot again but warmer and dry.

Worth noting that since the Beast from the East in March we have had almost all north/south jet stream instead of West/East, with only a few blips. This gave us the cold weather and the warm weather. If it continues like this we'll get more nice sunny autumn weather and then more cold and snow. There's a suggestion that the warmer arctic causes this, and the Arctic has been extremely warm this year.

Just been up Whinlatter with Little Miss breadcrumb for her first mountain biking experience (she's 2 next month) and it definitely feels like summer is starting to lift.

Brilliant ride though, lots of laughing, whooping and again agains!

September is usually a good month for decent sunny weather ..

TR, were you with Chris F? He was waxing lyrical about that route.

Nice and warm on the ground over here, but winds gusting up a fair bit, so landing under canopy was... interesting. The rain and cloud meant I quit early.

But, you can tell it is getting on to autumn. It was cold at altitude and I have this urge to light a fire.

Duckman.

Not guilty. How ever I also am loving the route this year. It's dried up very well.never caught it on a dry day last year so never saw it. But this year different game. Mastermind on the other side of the valley is ace as well
