Cold.
On it's own : Cold
With Beans : Hot
I used to like you.
Hot, if fresh. Cold otherwise. Reheated - no.
What sausage roll? Where?!
No no no no no!!!!!!!!!!
Hot and crispy, and never with beans.
I'm sorry I feel quite passionate about this!
Hot. And no ****ing microwaves either.
<edit>Never knew that F e c k ing was spelt *******</edit>
Defo hot, only tramps and ramblers eat them cold!
Am I throwing it at some-one?
Hot so long as they're fresh from the oven. #If they've been within three feet of a microwave or a warming cabinet then they need to be disposed of - probably by throwing in the binners.
Hot - there is no other option!
Pastry's crispy and fresh that way.
NEVER cold!
gary tank commanders view on the sausage roll debate
I believe the rule is:
Sausage roll = hot
Pork pie = cold.
Warm.
Nah. Cold and with a moistness of 1.25 RC.
RC being the SI unit of moistness with 1 RC being equivalent to 1 Ritz Cracker.
High street or artisan variety - it makes all the difference....
I always the SI unit for moistness was something else entirely
Anyone attaching the word Artisan to a product other than furniture should be fired into the sun.
Sausage rolls are hot because they are cooked in an oven.
The question you are really asking is fresh or stale?
...or moist.
er - have a word with yourself.
The word 'Artisan' has no place in this conversation
But this is the home of the 15 quid burger - anything less than organic wild boar & truffel sausage in a rye and quinoa pastry with a goose egg glaze just isn't trying.....
Binners +1
The only answer is yes.

There's plenty of room for everyone in the ship that will be fired into the sun.
rye and quinoa pastry
[worries about the ability to get a decent pastry. Bread yes, pastry...mmmmm š š ]
^Wnakers. Sun. Boom. End.
In the Northern Quarter? It can get in the ****ing sea!!!!
Sorry, but did I read cold pork pie? Is there another way???

Hot, freshly made pork pies are awesome the red-hot semi-liquid gelatine adds a frisson of danger to the experience.

With Ketchup on the roll, salad cream and/or English mustard with the pie. Job done
mini pork pies, microwave for 30 seconds, melt in the mouth goodness š
Lad that used to work for me swore by dunking in tomato soup. They still haven't found his body.
There are two ways, both are as correct as each other-
1. As a quick and dirty snack- cold, straight out of the packet with a squidge of tommy K, furtively scranned in the kitchen.
2. For tea- warmed up (not hot), with processed peas and some brown sauce, with a cuppa. There may be the possibility of a chip or two as well + slice of thick white (buttered, ta).
I will happily demolish a five pack of Lidl sausage rolls using method 1 š³ š
Hot with tomato ketchup.
Will tolerate cold as part of a picnic.
reheated in the microwave until the pastry has gone see through and the pink goo has reached nickc's SI of moistness. yum.
it's a VAT-dodging cold for me
Great question. Reminds me of the red sauce / brown sauce quiz on the Radio.
Cold. Never reheated as they are just a soggy mess.
They've gotta be cold! That's when the flavour comes alive!
Warm from Melton butchers for the sausage roll.
Fresh out of the oven at the Great Bircham deli for the pie.
Hot. covered in vinegar. Then brown sauce. and beans. Lots of beans.

I take it you don't like them much.
Always cold always with mushy peas and always with mint sauce. Thread closed.
I always regret not heating my shop bought ones up but like there's any chance I'm gonna find a microwave in town, arghhhhhhhhhhh!
They should have a community microwave that charges 20p a zap outside the corner shop, that way I'll never be disappointed again.
Meat Pie, sausage roll
C`mon Oldham give us a goal !
Mint sauce? What unholy deviance is this? Somewhere near the top of the m66 I've just heard the sound of Binners exploding.
Warm but not hot, never reheated, dash of brown sauce or Lee and Perrins.
Pork pies are cold and serve with mustard.
Pork pies are cold and serve with mustard.
Not if they come topped with apple and fig chutney etc
Fresh from the oven (11:50am) from Paddocks butchers in Hagley. 3 please, any more then I feel my arteries harden
Cold otherwise. Never, ever reheated
Mm now I want some. Sainsburys do a nice sausage roll with caramelised onion
caramelised onion
WTF? Do you manscape™?
Yep, I'm in the bath right now doing so
With a sausage roll?
Warm. I grab them warm in the bag from Mozzers (if timing is off and they've cooled on the stand - then walk on by - like a russian roulette diet) It's then a race to get somewhere quiet to ram them gobwards whilst still warm and sensuously scented. Have been seen riding the bike whilst smoking a warm one negotiating islands etc. I do feel some shame.
Hot - there is no other option!
Pastry's crispy and fresh that way.
...and dripping with grease š
Sausage rolls are much better once that grease has cooled and solidified.
There are some exceptions. Our local butcher does a sausage roll which isn't a regular sausage roll at all. It's more like a slab of meat, wrapped in a thin layer of crispy pastry. They're pretty good hot or cold.
I did take a risk recently. In some deli place I was asked the question - hot or cold? Brain whirred over frantically in a desperate panic for a second. And feeling daring, I blurted it out. Hot, please. My rationale being that I'm expecting some bad-ass boutique sausage roll - this could be one to take fresh out of the oven.
...they took a cold one and popped it in the microwave for two minutes. That pretty much put a downer on my entire day.

Someone else who has booked their ticket to the centre of the sun.
Either ,but never in the microwave.
What about pork pie?
Posh ones, such as the excellent ones from Robinson's in Stockbridge - Cold, or warmed nicely in the oven.
Cheaper, but still good, ones, such as Reeve's bakery's offerings - Warm, from the bakery.
Anything else? Not even worth eating! š
Cold - those massive bags of mini frozen ones are best. Cook, cool then bladder in tomato sauce - yom yom
Been know to devour a a full bag in one sitting š
Tebay do some amazing sausage rolls.
Edible even when cold and travelling..... Lots of tarragon and stuff. Awesome
Cold if it's from a petrol station/service station/corner shop fridge.
Warm/hot if it's fresh.
I believe the rule is:
Sausage roll = Cold
Pork pie = Hot
FTFU
Sausage rolls are by fr the best after been in the fridge for a hour or so after cooling. Definitely the only way to eat them.
I've been to places where they think a sausage roll is a sandwich! Degenerate scum

The south???
Well, I think there is consensus here. Sausage rolls are good.
I think the important thing is sausage rolls.
Warm...neither hot nor cold
In the bin. Given the choice I'd go for a steak bake or chicken bake every time. Sausage rolls are too greasy when they're hot. Not bad cold though.
Warmed in a microwave. With a hot chilli sauce. Eaten with a fork.
Hot, with mushy peas and gravy.
Oh, and mint sauce, or brown sauce at a push.
