As an extended family we are enjoying a Zoom family pub quiz of a locked down Saturday evening.
It is getting harder to find the right questions.
Any tips on places to look? Looking for something interesting and above all fun. Not the geeky pub quiz type questions, but something entertaining. Last week we had a round called Ikea or Cheese (10 names that were either the name of a cheese or a piece of Ikea furniture), plus some general knowledge. That kind of thing.
Thanks all!
Google 100 great quiz questions, and bingo.
Never thought of that. What is this 'Google' of which you speak?
Looking to see if anybody has used any good ones.
Have you tried kahoot? Its a subscription (£4 per month) but there are loads of quizes and its an interactive race you play online so no cheating possible. The freeversion is ok but you need to provide questions and answers.
We did a round of first lines from famous books and songs a couple of weeks ago. Seemed to go down well.
We have a round called will it float.
You need a big glass container filled with water and a selection of household objects.
Its amusing.
Also movie taglines is hilarious.
Could copy some quizzes off Sporcle.
What about odd but true facts. https://www.sporcle.com/playlists/babymonkee/odd-but-true
You could do a couple of Only Connect walls. Set a time limit and score it as they do on the show (1 point for a group, 1 for a connection, bonus 2 for getting the whole thing). Three are loads of examples here: https://www.puzzgrid.com/ and they are pretty well graded. Probably go with medium difficulty for a family group, and don't bother with anything less then 4 stars. You could either play them on line, just give out the number, or export them as a jpg and email.
We've been doing a weekly family quiz. Some quite enetertaining rounds have been, guess the film from twitter plot summarisation, eg: "A series of naps" is Inception, "Noseless man is obsessed with a schoolboy" is Harry Potter films. Name the topical song, "Stayin Alive", "Don't stand so close to me" etc.. You can make them as easy or hard as you like.
Kahoot is good - there is a free version which we've been using. Did it last weekend for a family quiz via Zoom and worked really well. Screen shared the questions and everyone downloaded the app to use to answer them. Did some generic family friendly pub quiz set of questions. 78 questions, some easy, some hard, some bizarre but theres loads on there.
I quite enjoy Psyche! - worth a shot one week...
We’ve been doing these and have actually had great fun researching questions.
Sex lives of animals worked well, who knew barnacles were so well endowed?
Or just pick a year and ask question related to it.
