Been talked into a review of my current account which gets me sod-all benefits or interest. They are bigging up their 1 2 3 account and I'm wondering if anyone has any real life positives to say about it?

We now get about a tenner a month in interest/money back from utilities.
So worth doing.

Kind of, if you have a few k sitting around in your account (for the interest) and have high monthly bills. I get about £3 a month profit, but I don't have much money and my bills are low.

If you go via topcashback you can get some money when you sign up.

I made more cash from my halifax reward account, which pays £5 a month which I kept for a comparison. If you can be bothered, open both, pay your wage into halifax, transfer at least 1k a month to santander 123, and have all but two Direct debits in your santander account, and have two DDs on the halifax. Of course you'd have to be as tight as me to do that.

Also worth the credit card as well, gives you money on fuel, food, etc.
We average between £10 and £20 a month back.

Worth it provided you don't ever go overdrawn. I'm getting £13 a month from household bills.

Better interest than just about any savings account, so if you put savings in there overdraft is a moot point. You only need basic utilities to put it into profit, we dont have all the applicable debits (no Sky etc, only 1 mobile bill) and its earning more than it costs.

They are doing the credit card on a free for 12 months trial if you ask in branch, they told us to come back with the bills in a few months and they review it to see (prove) if its worth it.

I've just changed my Santander account to a 123 account and made £9 this month. £5 of that was interest on savings, the rest was on our direct debits. Much better interest than most instant access savings accounts.

I've got a Santander mortgage as well as the 123 account, the 1% back on that isn't to be sniffed at over the course of a year.

I'd consider it if my recent experiences with Santanders laughable notion of customer service weren't so vividly imprinted on my mind.

Nationwide doing 5% on current accounts with 1 k a month minimum pay in

Sfer option than giving santander your details - similar experiance to scotroutes here and same for a couple of colleagues

Does the £1000 that has to go in every month have to be regular wages from an employer? I'm self employed so it'll be going in, in bits and bobs. Also not sure what would happen if £1000 didn't go in one month?

Just says pay in 1k

If you dont pay in 1k you dont get any interest that month.

We were told the overdraught was free and have since been charged several times. Our previous one was free, but they won't change back so very annoying. For us it wasn't worth the hassle.

But then you could pay in £250, take it out, pay in 4 times.....

No, it can be a transfer in from anywhere. Think it has to be one chunk though.
