Throw us a bone! what sort of flavour?

Salad cream
piccalilli
sandwich spread
mango chutney
any of a variety of chutneys

all of them work with nearly anything!

When i said dry , i meant in need of a sauce not in need of a filling .

No salad cream (worse than mayo)
no piccalilli
nowt to spicy

I'm not keen on mayo either! Hummus for me or piccalilli for a starters or if it's a cheese sarnie a wiping of marmite!
How about some pickled halapenos or sliced gherkins and burger mustard.

I think we need to keep a close eye on this one folks. Definitely odd. Could be a murderer. 🙂

I don't like mayo, my substitute is salad cream (Heinz of course). As that's out of the equation tomato or red onion chutney.

Weirdo, mayo and salad cream (heinz) are condiments of the gods.
But I would recommend Baxter chutneys as your next port of call.
Their tomatoes one is lovely to start with, and the spicy fruit has come between me and branston pickle for use with cheese... got their caramelized onion one in my sights now.

You could try Guacamole (just avoid the hot stuff) with your peaches

or horse grease

you could try putting some egg yokes, some white wine vinegar, some dijon mustard, a little lemon juice and salt n' pepper (add herbs or wholegrain mustard here if you fancy) in a magimix, then turn it on and slowly pour in veg (rapeseed) oil, then add a little olive oil.

What you make will do perfectly for what you're looking for.

Surely the condiment is dependant on the main filling?

I hate mayo, and salad cream makes me gag.

The world is full of flavour; mayo is the boring easy sauce.

Try:

Horseradish, guacamole, yoghurt sauces ie cucumber raita. Mustard, chutney, pickle or curry sauce. Ketchup (tomato or mushroom). Mint, redcurrant or cranberry.
Wasabi.
Cajun, hot, tabasco, burger sauce.
Peanut butter, jam, Nutella, cream cheese, philadelphia.
A drizzle of olive oil/nice vinaigrette.
Melted cheese, sour cream or salsa.

MARMITE.

Any meat/cheese-based sandwich can be improved with the addition of coleslaw IMO.

Other than that, peanut butter and raspberry jam is a particular favorite.... although I'm keen to try other nut-butters.

Cheese and beetroot FTW

Bloody Australians insist in putting beetroot into absolutely everything. It's got to a point that you have to ask whether anything you order has got a slice of the rancid stuff in.

"Does your cheeseburger have beetroot in it?"
"Yes, of course. Would you like extra beetroot?"
"No thanks, I don't want any beetroot in it, thank you."
"So a Cheeseburger, no extra beetroot"
"No, a cheeseburger without any beetroot at all"
"No extra beetroot, and no regular beetroot?"
"I don't want any sort of beetroot"
"But you still want cheese, right?"
"Yes, I still want cheese....."

Cheese with grated carrot and raisins? Well you said you were odd..

Tamarind chutneys can add real depth of flavour without hot spices.

Pataks Aubergine pickle is something else but has chilli in.

Cheese and beetroot FTW.

Wise words indeed! Or corned beef and beetroot. Mmmmmmmmmm

If you haven't tried it already, I'd recommend this…..

M&S beetroot sandwich pickle. The condiment of the gods!!!

Rogan Josh - Hummus or pesto are both the devils spaff, and have no place on a sandwich, you freak!

Another vote for Baxter's chutneys.
Spiced fruit one will be gone in a week. Victorian one pretty good too.
Yet to try the caramelised onion.

Or sweet chilli sauce is another favourite.

Only when I don't have rediculous quantities of mayo tho.

Some low fat sandwiches have a bit of water in them to give the moisture.

You could even use hot water on a cold day.

Glad you like the Baxters, a handy hint is Lidl (or our local one at least) likes to bulk buy Baxter every couple of months and sell em for 1/3 less than the supermarkets. Just picked up the Victoria one to try, along with supplies of tomato & spicy fruit versions. Tried the caramelized onion and it's just ok... I've had a better one but can't remember the maker (might be country delight)
