Looking for a new tablet and have noticed Samsung has reduced the tab s9 to iPad air prices.

Has anyone got a Samsung s9 tablet? Any negatives in going for the Samsung?

Currently have a iPad air 2014.

Samsung are offering me £100 for the iPad via trade in and if I use the Samsung app I can get an extra 5% off.

Total for the Samsung is £521.55 with the trade in

Or a OnePlus, for less, with keyboard case for free

Do you own an Apple or Android phone op?

Id be inclined to keep to the same ecosystem but it's hardly a "must do" either.

That OnePlus looks interesting 👍

I've a Google pixel phone. Been on android for a few years.

Only got the iPad originally as I had an iPhone at the time.

Hmmm 🤔

Check and see how long OS and security updates are promised, that's honestly what would sway me to the Apple if it's the same price and Samsung are still offering their usual support. And the screen but that's a use case thing for me.

From what I can see Samsung are supporting for 4 os updates.
I would have expected it to be more especially with the initial cost of the tab s9.

My ipad 2014 has just had an update but it becomes more unusable with every update. Can’t complain really it’s been a good tablet.

For some reason I’m still leaning towards the Samsung

My Air 2 of the same vintage is still doing fine and it's the piddly 16gb one. 8 OS upgrades ain't bad and it's still getting security patches. I only use it as a reader and Netflix viewer so appreciate I'm not the most demanding user.

Unless the Android makers up their game its replacement will be another iPad despite all the ecosystem drawbacks.
