currently got the HTC Desire HD.
Time to upgrade.
S2 or Sensation ?
I'm a fan of HTC's customer service, but my Desire HD has had some software faults. great build quality though and fantastic customer service.
not sure about the S2 UI or the build quality , etc.
thoughts ?
TIA 🙂
Not got either, just got an SE Arc which. Although single core it isn't half bad, camera very good and display pretty nice and clear too.
Stepson recently got an SG2 and its converted him from an iPhone, butit seems to run rather hot after a short time playing games.

After being sent the galaxy SII as an upgrade, i returned it unused as it seems so flimsy and fragile compared to my old Desire. Thinking I will wait for the Sensation XE.

Loving my S2
Way better than the iPhone 3GS it replaced
Mrs M got an SII about 3 months ago, and even I'm well impressed with it. Fantastic screen, very good camera, blindingly fast browsing, and excellent UI. Even the battery life is OK. Got a good grippy case for it as it's almost too thin without it. When I replace my phone, I'll go for an SII rather than an iPhone
no interest in iphones, sorry.
wondering how it compares in use to the htc sensation.
TIA 🙂
oh - topper - indeed looking at the beats audio version myself - when is it due in the UK ?
I have a sensation, and love it. It replaced a 3gs and it exceeds it in almost everyway. The only negative element is the market isnt as polished as the app store. Its quick, responsive, the screen is lovely to look at and the camera is good.
example:
Galaxy S2 is much faster than the Sensation, thinner, better screen (although admittedly not quite as high resolution), battery life is great, flimsiness is an "initial impressions" thing. It's got Gorilla glass on the front and the back cover is tougher than you might think...
I was waiting for the iphone 5 but then it dawned on me that I didn't want to be tied im for 24 months AND bhave to pay nearly two ton up front as apple will have you over a barrel due to demand = no deals. so just replaced my iphone 4 with a galaxy S2 and I have to say its a cracking phone. gap has definitely closed between ios and android. camera is superb, battery is decent and I don't find it flimsy whatsoever. if that is a concern just get a casemate tough case or similar.
Just waiting for the moment to pick up the S2.
I've got an S2. At first i was nit-picking with the plastic on the back but when its on, its solid. Love this phone, far more accessible to a geek like myself, i got fed up with every man and his dog having either an iphone or blackberry. glad i made the choice!
Watch out for a pink spot or 'hue' in the middle of still and video pictures, mainly on indoor pictures. I had this on a couple of S2's that had to go back, other than that, a cracking phone, but I haven't used a Sensation to compare it with.
Was iplaying with colleagues HTC Sensation and Samsung Galaxy SII at the weekend
Both made my Iphone4 look tiny,,,,
Out of the 2 i preferred the HTC
Anyone selling a their "old" smartphones? I am after an unlocked one, HTC or I-phone or Samsung.
S2. Faster, thinner, lighter, better screen.
Had my S2 since the week they were released , it's very easy to use. The screeen is fantastic and easy to read. Surfing is fast in 3G areas but slows down a lot when you drop to 2G , the camera is pretty reasonable

At home if i'm just browsing I tend to just use the phone rather than get the laptop out.I got a rubberised hard case for the princely sum of £2.62 of ebay.
I've no experience of Apple products so the difference in available apps means nothing to me.
i love android, hate apple and itunes hence my current desire HD.
seems little in it then folks.
will go have a look see at the weekend and have a play with both - thanks 🙂

I have the original Sensation and:
1. You can run the current sensation at 1.5GHz
2. Can install a mod to enable the 'Beats' mod
3. Just buy the new battery
There is nothing other than the new headphones that is any different to the current Sensation so no need to wait for the "new" phone.
It's a marketing ploy 😉
I've got the Sensation.
TBH, there's not a huge amount between the two phones, I don't think there's a 'wrong' choice here.
Personally, I've been burned by awful Samsung Android products in the past and I like HTC's Sense UI, so it was an easy choice for me.
check out the samsung galaxy note if you like the s2
i'll be waiting for that instead
3. Just buy the new battery
If you do get the Sensation, make sure you do this! I got the Anker 1900mah one from Amazon for about £8.
Makes such a ridiculous difference. With the stock battery I'd charge it fully overnight, then have to charge again before leaving work at 16:00. With the Anker, I usually still have 50%+ left on leaving work. I am a heavy user though, got it auto checking emails on a 15 minute basis, wifi constantly on and usually listening to Spotify 40 minutes out of every hour. It's a great phone, apart from an issue with the case which mean dust can get between the glass and the LCD which has happened to mine.. I'm gonna be sending mine it to HTC soon as I move house.
The S2 is a lot more robust that you'd think.
I've dropped mine countless times (one time onto a rock from about 5ft which left a dent in the bezel) and it is still working fine.
I've got the Sensation & the other half has the S2.
I prefer to HTC as it seems more intuitive than the S2 and i could pick it up straight away & it was obvious where stuff would be where as the S2 (which i played with before getting the HTC) didn't always have what you were looking for in the obvious place.
The HTC also feels more robust for throwing into camelbak's etc were as the S2 felt too thin.
The wifi on the HTC also seems better as the S2 drops out more often even when we're both sat next to each other using our phones, not sure if that's a phone issue or signal issue 😕
Out of the 2 I'm glad i went for the HTC but there is so little in it between the 2 i think it will boil down to personal preference, oh and the camera's on both are great 8)
well as i love the UI on my desire HD and the srvice and back up from HTC UK, i'll probably go for the sensation - thanks folks.
