You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Seen these around and a second hand one has come up locally, 3 years old, so 7 year life, would be used for a bbq and there is a local lpg station that allows filling. Any other gotchas, issues etc,
thanks
No experience, but with calor stopping the 4.5kg butane bottles I’m looking for alternatives.
The safefill ones look interesting - they’re not metal so no rust staining on the grp and presumably lighter to cart back and forth when refilling. Question remains around how easy it is to get them filled and can appliances certified for butane and propane use LPG without insurance/ safety ramifications?

There are various brands of refillable cylinders.
Before investing it would be worth checking if you have a local-ish garage where you can refill them. I still have to hunt them out as I have a bulk tank fitted under my campervan. LPG converted cars are getting less common and garages have been taking out the pumps during refits as they normally have above ground LPG tanks which take up space for other stuff like adblue pumps and shop parking. And I reckon they will continue to get rarer as petrol stations add EV Charging.
Finally, there is a bit of a disconnect between what the attendants are happy with, and what the tanks are approved for. If you plonk the bottle on the floor they might not authorise the pump, but if you act like it's an LPG converted car and just fill the cylinder behind the car, you'll be ok.
