One of the Hogsmill koi carp has died.
Thought this might have been about the Am.
He's not dead, he's just resting.
The good news is that they are still there. I used to see them regularly but not for over a year now.
Dead ones excepted.
Forgive me for seeming mean, but Koi Carp in a British river? A bit out if place surely?

RIP none native fish.
Well I fink it’s tragic.
RIP River Phoenix.
Don’t weird help oxygenate water? I always thought that was positive for river life...?
If that was a Koi, it was worth a lot of money! More likely a regular goldfish (carp) that been released and interbred with a wild carp.
I’ve seen a couple of fairly large goldfish in the Avon in the centre of Salisbury, it’s fairly common I believe for people to get tired of looking after a goldfish and sneak it into a nearby brook or river and let it take its chances in the wild.
Surprised a heron didn’t get that, or a passing Osprey!
And before anyone questions that last, one Saturday afternoon a couple of years ago I was stood on the Sustrans bridge over the Avon on the outskirts of Chippenham and I saw an Osprey fly past close enough for me to identify the large Chubb it had in its talons!
Here's his mates.
