I'm looking at buying (making?) a SAD light box.
Any recommendations welcome.
I've seen the VALKEE Bright Light earphones, which I like the idea of, but presume they are quackery of the highest order.

Snake oil probably some conspiracy cooked up by the illuminati.

Not a SAD light user, but bought one of those sunrise alarm clocks at Christmas, it's excellent!

I've used a Phillips GoLite Blue for years. Works for me.

Had one for years, from a now defunct supplier. So not much help there.
What I would like to add is that you should get the brightest one you can, you don't have to be so close or for so long.

Good luck, they really work.

Rather than get ripped off for a SAD box just use 2-4 daylight spectrum bulbs in whatever room you like. Does the same job for pennies!

This had crossed my mind, but wondered if this would raise light levels enough to have any effect.

I've been using a Lumie light box for 2 or 3 years

Lumie Arabica from here and googling for a discount code got me 15% off.

Not snake oil for me.

I don't suffer SAD but people I have given the advice to have been well pleased.

And if it doesn't work you can still get a SAD box too and still have a bright room!

I've used a Philips GoLite - works for me, being small and portable is handy.

We got one of these:

Aurora - Light Box SAD LightBox SAD Lamp for SAD Light Therapy

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000Z29SW4/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_Z4fUwbJ62GQ6N

Expensive, but doesn't look too 'medicinal' and, as others have said, has not been snake oil.

Wife and I each have one of these on a timer plug to act as a wake up light. Definitely works, a few minutes of staring at it and I'm awake.

The Lumi type of SAD lights are just too dim to be effective.
