[Closed] Sabbatical Projects - WWSTWD

I may get a three month sabbatical from work next year. Requested months will be June/July/August.

A bit of context :
- My two boys will be 7 and 5 by then, and will be on school holidays
- We live in France
- My wife won't have a sabbatical, but will probably get a few weeks vacation during the same period
- We may be relocating (changing countries) during or shortly after
- We may have a van with sleeping facilities by then. Or may not.

I'd like time with family, I'd like some time to do something I wouldn't otherwise, but I don't want to (and it wouldn't be fair) to disappear to Whistler for 2 months and leave my wife to work and look after the kids.

A few things I'm considering :

- An "epic" MTB or Gravel journey (French divide, GTMC, GTJ or something similar) - a week or two with some training beforehand to get into shape
- A few shorter road trips with the kids to nice places (coast, mountains)
- Using the opportunity to learn something new that might be a stepping stone for career change later, or might just be fun (I have a wheelbuilding project leftover from COVID that still hasn't been done, so I don't have a great track record on this stuff). Had wondered about doing some MTB coaching qualification.
