Hi,
I've got a Ryobi drill for DIY which has 2 batteries but I've not kept up with charging them every month and it's now over 5 years old. It still works but the battery isn't enough for the jobs I need.
Can you get them rebuilt or is it cheaper just to buy new ones or just buy a new drill with batteries?
Thanks

You can get replacements or get them rebuilt but the technology has moved on. A LIon drill and battery is the way to go these days. As you aren't using it much it is questionable whether it is worth the upgrade, though. I would, I like a nice drill, but YMMV
Best replacements I found for my Ryobi had 'Bosch' on the side, were blue and came with a free drill attached.

Yes, I'm thinking that too 😁
Hmm, mine said Makita, still blue, though.

Unlike those blue and yellow ones đŸ™‚ one plus compatibility has been consistent for years, you can just buy a one plus li-on battery (and presumably charger) and it will work with your old drill, I've got a load of ryobi stuff and although everyone sneers, it's at least as good as the low end makita and dewalt stuff and there a lot more tools to choose from as well.
If its just to keep an older but still fully functioning tool going why not opt for a cheapo compatible Li-Ion off ebay rather than a full price pukka ryobi battery?
