Just heard this
http://www.tmz.com/2011/06/20/jackass-ryan-dunn-dies-dead-car-crash-accident-pennsylvania/
wreckage doesn't look pretty!
drink driving I heard..
shame.
less of a shame if it was drink driving...
i was talking about the porche he wrote off...
Less of a shame if drink driving?! He may have been a dick but he's still dead ffs
34-year-old Dunn appeared in all of the "Jackass" movies -- famously shoving a toy car into his rectum in the first flick back in 2002.
It's how he would of wanted to be remembered.
Less of a shame if drink driving?! He may have been a dick but he's still dead ffs
Couldn't agree more:
a death is a death, he entertained people with the rest of the Jackass guys, whether you like it or not he'll still have a family and friends who will grieve for him.
Will be sorely missed, regardless of the way in which it happened, it's a shame to see anyone die.
as my mrs just said: "I doubt he'd be pleased to go like that considering what he did for a living"
RIP
Less of a shame if drink driving?! He may have been a dick but he's still dead ffs
Drunk driving & speeding when he hit a tree, the tree may have saved others peoples lives. Hope the tree recovers.
he choose to drink and put other peoples lives at risk by driving - got what he deserved...
It would have been ok if he was only putting his own life at risk, but he wasn't.
another keen spirited young man who brought joy to many by living too fast bites the dust.. RIP
got what he deserved
this place never ceases to amase me, 🙁
he's DEAD, why not call his missus and say that?
yes it's worth mentioning that he also killed his passenger.
sorry to play devils advocate.
this place never ceases to amase me,he's DEAD, why not call his missus and say that?
and what would you be saying if he had taken out a car with your family in it?
and what would you be saying if he had taken out a car with your family in it?
i wonder why they consented to get into a car with a drunk guy ?
do we now know that he was the driver and not just some poor innocent victim in this tragic episode?
CharlieMungus +1
None of the articles say who was driving.
got what he deserved.
He deserved to die ?
Well if those who drink and drive deserve to die, then I'm guessing that anyone caught drinking and driving should be executed ? .......I mean, it wouldn't be right if they didn't get what they "deserved" - now would it ?
Anyone else you think "deserves" to die TurnerGuy ?
as in crashed into and totalled it.taken out
it's you guys that have the double standards, whenever there is a thread about some cyclist killed by a driver you all come down hard on the driver, but in this guys case it seems alright 'cos he is a 'celeb'
and what would you be saying if he had taken out a car with your family in it?
i wouldn't be overly happy but tbf that's a moot point, never happened. I would never wish death on anyone, no matter how stupid they were.
double standards are ok actually.. otherwise the world would be a very bland place..
deserved to die is a bit harsh regardless of whether or not you're in posession of the facts..
but I guess we must all remember that no matter how each of us dies somebody somewhere will undoubtably be thinking that we got what we deserved..
Nope, not seen many wish for the death penalty in the case of drivers who kill cyclists. I don't think anyone is saying drink driving is fine btw. I think plenty would argue that punishment for this crime should be stronger. Just not as strong as death.
We watched for a while - the TV coverage, the crowds at Ground Zero and in front of the White House. Celebrations. Revelry. I felt so distant and alone with my family. I went to the computer and posted a status update on Facebook: "Osama Bin Laden is dead. So is Vanessa. We do not celebrate death in our family.
double standards are ok actually.. otherwise the world would be a very bland place.
yunki, i think you are confusing standards with penetration
.....no matter how each of us dies somebody somewhere will undoubtably be thinking that we got what we deserved..
😕 There's some weird people on here.
yunki, i think you are confusing
It depends entirely on if I'm playing the part of the parson or the camel.. and should you then push back..? or forwards..?
Anyone else you think "deserves" to die TurnerGuy ?
People who set light to rabbits apparently.
assuming he was the driver he got into the car drunk knowing what the possible outcomes where, and he got one of them - simples.
Luckily he didn't get any of the other outcomes which could have involved killing more people.
There's some weird people on here.
what's made you say that ernie..? Don't start on me FFS.. it's me birthday tomorrow.. 😕
assuming he was the driver
when you start assuming, you make and ass out of you and ming.
Turner guy - see you next tuesday
It is shame when anyone dies but my sorryness rating decreases when they do something very foolish that contribute to this. When this foolishness endangers other people it reduces some more.
what's made you say that ernie..?
Well you reckoning that every time someone dies, someone somewhere, 'will undoubtably be thinking that they got what they deserved'. It's a really weird thing to be thinking imo 😕
Have a nice birthday tomorrow btw.
when you start assuming, you make and ass out of you and ming.
even if he wasn't the driver but the driver was drunk, he accepted the same possible outcomes...
assuming he was the driver he got into the car drunk knowing what the possible outcomes where, and he got one of them - simples.
Well, there are soldiers dying in hostile action at the moment where death is a possible outcome. Do they also deserve it? BTW, your statement above would read the same without the word drunk in the sentence at all.
Luckily he didn't get any of the other outcomes which could have involved killing more people.
Agree 100%
(Reuters) - Actor Ryan Dunn, a star of the "Jackass" movie franchise, died early Monday when the 2007 Porsche he was driving careened off a highway and burst into flames.
Reuters say he was driving.
Other reports state the car was doing over 110mph!
It's a really weird thing to be thinking imo
I probably wouldn't have been thinking it if I hadn't have been reading this thread if that makes you feel any better..?
even if he wasn't the driver but the driver was drunk, he accepted the same possible outcomes...
Is the same true of a cyclist who gets killed by a motorist?
if that makes you feel any better..?
I'm feeling fine thanks.
How you feeling ❓
shame it wasn't Bam Margera
the point is that he made the stupid decision to put other peoples lives at risk. Going to war and the cyclist CM quotes both know the risks they are taking on, but they are not endangering anyone else through their own pig-ignorant actions.
It will also definitely be on the news now that neither was drunk...
It will also definitely be on the news now that neither was drunk.
A cover-up eh ?
......he was the 'People's Jackass'
you don't want to be pissing Ming off ! - he's remorselesswhen you start assuming, you make and ass out of you and ming
the point is that he made the stupid decision to put other peoples lives at risk. Going to war and the cyclist CM quotes both know the risks they are taking on, but they are not endangering anyone else through their own pig-ignorant actions
But you made the point that by getting in the car, as a passenger, thus not endangering anyone himself, he still deserved to die. He knew the risks, yup, as would a cyclist
you don't want to be pissing Ming off ! - he's remorseless
And he never says 'Thank You'
I'm feeling fine thanks. How you feeling
hmm.. not so good now
Someone somewhere is probably mourning the loss of a Son/Brother/Dad/Uncle/Cousin.
Very sad. Not really something to score forum troll points on, but there you go.
if he knew the driver was drunk he should have stopped him driving, or found another means of transport.
if he knew the driver was drunk he should have stopped him driving, or found another means of transport.
So, you accept that he was not endangering life himself, just doing something stupid?
I was riding the road he died on, just a few miles further up, yesterday afternoon. It's a belter of a road, so it's not totally surprising that someone might want to take a performance machine at high speed along it.
So, you accept that he was not endangering life himself, just doing something stupid?
by letting the driver drive drunk he was endangering life - of course he wasn't just doing something stupid.
What if Militant Biker had been on that road a bit later, and been taken out. Would you have said "Oh well, he was just being stupid, the lovable rogue"
by letting the driver drive drunk he was endangering life
Do you then take it upon yourself to ensure that as few people as possible drive drunk? Are you to be found outside a pub at closing time?
What if Militant Biker had been on that road a bit later, and been taken out. Would you have said "Oh well, he was just being stupid, the lovable rogue"
Who? The passenger? No, I wouldn't have been blaming the passenger. Somewhat bemused that you do so.
Poor show Ryan. You could have done better by dying in a stunt on live TV or something and not something stupid like drink driving. That is not cool Jackass! That is simply stupid. 🙄
Well, at least you die young in a Porsh and enjoyed your life without slaving for someone earning peanuts in the slump.
So long dude! Next!
Well, at least you died in a Porsh and enjoyed your life without slaving for someone earning peanuts in the slump
Yes, truly he lived his life like a candle in the wind
]i doubt he does but does that make the dead persons actions any less dangerous?Do you then take it upon yourself to ensure that as few people as possible drive drunk? Are you to be found outside a pub at closing time?
he could have stopped the driver by simply going you are drunk i am rich lets get a taxi home dude. Perhaps they could then have thrown rocks in each other faces/groins [ i am not sure which is funniest] whilst they waited for the taxi.
he could have stopped the driver by simply going you are drunk i am rich lets get a taxi home dude.
so could anyone, it doesn't make it your fault that you didn't
Merciless was what I heard.you don't want to be pissing Ming off ! - he's remorseless
If the pissed up driver and 110mph reports are true then he was a bloody dangerous idiot and hopefully this will highlight the dangers to jackass fans. Deserving to die tho? Leave it out turnerguy
so could anyone, it doesn't make it your fault that you didn't
iirc you are the physics expert but I think you actually need to be there to do this
Merciless was what I heard.
That's what i said.
But now I'm wondering if it was merkinless...
Interesting thread. Probably the most like an actual coversation in the pub I have read on here.
I shall pay tribute to Ryan Dunn by watching Jackass 2 on Film4 tomorrow night at 1:15am and laughing at him. Loudly.
is that the racist pub or the bunny killer pub?
Always seemed a nice bloke to me. One of the nicer members of the team. A bad and dumb decision to end a nice blokes life.
gutted loved the hill billy rip mr dunn 😡
RIP.
He did seem a nice lad. I was living in Philadelphia when Jackass was first on MTV and he was on the local stations a bit, think he was from round there. Always came across well, although did seem a bit of an ale-tank tbf.
if he knew the driver was drunk he should have stopped him driving, or found another means of transport.
Ok, we get it, you had a drink driving bad experience. Friends or family affected by somat bad.
Still no need to be chuffed at a death. I mean really, that's shitty dude
clearly I am not chuffed at his death - but you could say I am chuffed that he didn't kill more people with his act of blatant stupidity.
....he didn't kill more people with his act of blatant stupidity.
Are you still going on about this ? Why don't you wait until the driver and the cause of the accident is actually known ? 💡
Hi.. I'm Johnny Knoxville and this is 'the brake fluid sabotage..'
drink driving.....
what a jackass.....
If this was a cyclist that had died you'd all be at it with crocodile tears.
Someone has a bevvy and drives (allegedly) and he's an evil b-tard? Awesome...
Why don't you wait until the driver and the cause of the accident is actually known ?
The driver is already known, as is the fact the driver was drinking shortly before the crash.
😯
RIP.
Perhaps you could all settle it by racing down a steep hill in shopping trolleys, naked whilst tazering each other. 😆
Since when should arguing about who's pleased or not about some American guys premature demise command 2+ pages on here... 🙄 .. oh hang on it's STW.. 😉
The driver is already known, as is the fact the driver was drinking shortly before the crash.
Lets hope you don't change your profession to a judge aracer. I haven't yet seen any irrefutable proof with regards to those 'facts'. And no, a photo of someone holding a glass of something with an ice cube floating on the top, allegedly taken several hours before the accident, does not provide proof that the cause of the accident was drink driving - however probable it might be.
What I have read in contrast with what has been already decided by some on a mountain bike forum : "Police are still investigating the cause of the accident" and "Alcohol was not identified as an initial cause of the accident."
I love this forum. never ceases to amaze me at how insensitive some people are. I thought I was bad but to suggest someone deserves to die because of a silly mistake is just ridiculous!
does every thread now descend into an argument?
It's putting me off using this site TBH
I haven't yet seen any irrefutable proof with regards to those 'facts'
Well at the time I posted, and indeed at the time you posted what I replied to, it had already been confirmed by the police that he was driving - not my fault if you've not looked hard enough. Or do you require evidence of a standard to be presented in court before posting on STW?
does every thread now descend into an argument? It's putting me off using this site TBH
no it isn't
Yes it does!
