This could be Tonga's RWC Final so to speak, the Tongans will lose but it's going to be bloody!

A little QI on a friday morning is no bad thing

I believe as the visiting team Tonga start their Hacker first, its up to the Kiwis how they respond. Be it, stand there and wait for Tonga to finish or start their own Hacker immmediately.

Either way a pretty damn cool start to the competition, inspiring stuff

Haka btw
A haka is a warrior challenge, generally performed together however tonight it is individually for various boring reasons. Tonga first, Abs respond. I pick Ka Mate as tonight's Haka for general reasons of enjoyment. ****n amazing today in Akl, amazing.

Kore rawa e rawaka te reo kotahi

Haere Mai.

Trying to watch opening ceremony on ITV1 at mo and seems more an extended advertisement break and studio chat with tiny bits of ceremony shown in between. Is it on anywhere else?

No! Only immediately the half time whistle blows. This ain't american bloody football, so they'll be no ad breaks during the game.

Got a damn meeting at 10 so only able to watch first half hour... can't believe how excited I am though!!

Brack ... poor form.

Its part of our culture regardless, wether Pakeha, Maori or otherwise.

Every kid is educated in this regard, college rugby games would have both schools lined up on opposite sidelines with every one participating.

Flash - Maori or part Maori ? Just checking - a few fo shu SBW is part, Dagg, kaino, Williams believe it or not. Always hard to tell as lots of honkys are part Maori.

Edit: firk we are playing well.

Edit edit: I'm a Scottish honky with an nz pport who can read write and speak some te reo. Not always about origin or colour?

For the English among you, when they put the ball down on the ground over the line near the goal posts, that's called a "try" 😀

Just in case you were confused!

From this display I fear NZ will choke at yet another RWC. Who will they "probably" get after the group stages?

NZ - Scotland in the quarter.

Argentina are going to be the big losers this year.

Two very nice tries at the end, great tenacity from Tonga and good communication from the All Blacks.
