Did a full rupture of acl in November doing taekwondo. Initially went under just physio with a view to building strength around the rest of the leg. Started riding again and taekwondo end of Dec and then extreme pain again in knee when kicking a pad. Consultant now told me I can only swim, ride on the road from now on with it or have an op. The op will be 4 - 5 months away then I will have 6 months before mtb and 12 months for taekwondo. Have people gone with the op ? What is it like etc and have other people got experience not having it. Any thoughts appreciated

Yep had the op. Lots of physio needed. Back on road bike after 3 months or so.
Got any private cover? If you do this guy will have you sorted in no time: https://www.mackayclinic.co.uk/
No private cover and it’s about 6k I do not have. Physio wise they said it’s a big commitment but 3 months is not to bad, just have to resist the desire to eat and drink
