Cross Britain Ultra began earlier, can be tracked if you know anyone or are interested .

My boss and a local runner from Dalbeattie are taking part

The weather for today is poor and for tomorrow atrocious, hoping participants navigation skills are good.

Good luck to them, the conditions will be very wet underfoot, I guess the dalbeattie runner will be Norman Neilson?.

Thats going to be a hard race, last time I walked the Kilhern to Windfarm bit on a dry day I was knee deep in the mud.

Nails, hard as.

Good friend of ours is not far off carsphairn now, horrible conditions, poorly marked, bogs after bogs, kudos to them.

She'll do the whole lot with a smile on her face as well. 😊

I've considered running the SUW but there's far too much road and flat(ish) forest track for me. Good luck to them though.

The one and only.

Boss dropped out at Wanlockhead with poorly feet, his first longvrun for some time after knee surgery so kudos for getting that far.

As nobeer says it's pretty boggy on the West Side, gets better after Sanquhar but still some horrible wet bits. I biked a wee section recently and even after the long dry spell it was still wet. Signage is never easy to spot but with the poor weather, visibility and long grass the sign are even more difficult to spot especially when unlike somewhere like the Lakes the paths are well trodden the SupW isn’t

Our Lesley finished first female, and top 20 all in. Fantastic, she's a great lass, incredibly humble, so pleased for her.
