I need some running shoes. I am an over pronator with wide feet. I want to run a mix of road and trail.
I bought some On running shoes but they fell apart after 3 months and the tread is bad for collecting stones under foot. I don´t want another pair of those.
Any recommendations?

You don’t really get stability trail shoes so you need to look at stability road shoes with aggressive tread.
Brooks are worth a look for wide feet, not sure on the model mind you.
Nike Structure are worth a look too, might be a tad narrow though.

Personally use Hoka Arahi 4’s which come in a 2E wide fit. They are more road than trail, at the moment trails here need welly’s.

Have also used the Hoka Graviota 2, also good but heavy. Adidas Luna Glide ST which I didn’t like at all.

It’s difficult at the moment as you can’t pop to the running shop and try a bunch on.

Got recommended this list a while back with similar requirements. Likely newer versions of each of them now.

ASICS GT-3000
Mizuno Wave Alchemy
Saucony Redeemer ISO
Brooks Beast
Asics Gel Foundation 2
New Balance M860

Fine for running on fire roads, wouldn’t want to fell run in any of them.

Returning to running with similar requirements I have just bought some Brooks Adrenaline GTS 20 for the road. They do a wide fitting which is great. I have some inov8 trail shoes for off road.

Altra paradigm for the road which have some stability and I use altra lone peak off road which are neutral as they are offroad , nice foot shape

ASICS do a trail version of their gt2000 road stability shoe, not tried it but might be worth a look.

Their gel fujitrabuco trail shoes are pretty supportive too.
Friend of you want a road shoe with a bit of trail of a trail shoes with a bit of road.

I've used Saucony Omni with some degree of success. Overpronator with wide feet.

Shoe width seems to be an odd one. There's a few people recommending ASICS abve and I've always found them far to narrow. But I wear Nike, and they're meant to be narrow as well.
Brooks and Saucony are generally concidered wider, the former do a wide fit in some shoes and it's really wide indeed.

I'm also an over-pronater, run almost entirely off road, and have never bothered with support in trail shoes as whats under foot changes with every step.

I've used Asics, Mizuno, Brooks over the years and preferred the Brooks out of all of those. Most recently was some Salomon Speedcross 4 which were nice, but might be too narrow for you. Currently on Nike Air Zoom Pegasus Trail and they are lovely - very different to the Salomon as much more support, but my knees are getting old and need all the help they can get!

As tonyd says some trail shoes provide more support than others but won't totally stop pronation on tarmac.
I found Brooks trail shoes gave me more support when I was videoed on a treadmill but I only really wear them when I'm on uneven ground.
Mud or wet ground Salomon speedcross have amazing grip, more support and take an anti pronate insole.
When I'm going to be on hard pack or grass in dry ish conditions I'll always go back to my Brooks Adrenaline GTS as the comfort is great, grip is good and the pronate support is perfect for me. Do have to watch out for mud and stones build up though.

+1 for Altra if you've got wide feet. It's probably not an understatement to say wide shoes have transformed my running. The comfort! Ironic that I didn't even realise I was uncomfortable, I though that was just normal.

Now on wide shoes at work too, even if I do look like a 🤡!

Topo running shoes here, these wide shoes have transformed my running, I’d encourage a look at these and the Altra.

Try some on, if they fit and they are comfortable go run.

Simple as that.

Don’t believe the hype

Thanks for that advice. I am in lockdown until at least 7th February (they say it will be more).
Normally I would go to a shop but nowadays it´s not that easy.

The Altra Paradigm look great, will give them a try (love my Lone Peak).

I have been using New Balance 860 for years. Stability shoes and OK width, New Balance also do extra wide versions but these didn't work for me. You can often find an older version significantly cheaper.

Another vote for the Altras, the Lone Peaks I had were a bit clown-shoe but definitely very comfortable.
